My Dad has a Browning 280 and I love that gun. First time I shot it, groundhog out about 125yd, rolled him. Dad lets me use it when I want, thinking he will give it to me soon since he is slowing down. On the caliber debate 30-06 is what I have used for many years.

Morning all and Happy Thanksgiving, will be a different one for us. Haven't been around for a bit, my Mother passed on the 19th. Fiance and I found her on the floor, never want to experience this ever again. So this cut my archery season short taking care of her affairs, I am POA and executor. Rifle comes in Saturday and in Pa the GC allows one Sunday hunt which is the day after opener. I will be there. Hug your loved ones today! Attached is my therapy appointment two days ago. upload_2024-11-28_7-31-34.jpg

The First Deer Rifle that I ever purchased for myself was back in 1980-81. I went to a gun show in Lafayette La, and bought a Savage 110E in 30-06, because ammo could be purchased at any store in America, even in the middle of no where.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Hopefully the Holidays can be of happy memories.

I love the 280. Always seemed the perfect answer to the 270 vs 30-06 debate. I used to have a rare marked 7mm express. Now I shoot a 280AI for sheep/moose.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I know how it feels as I lost my mom when I was a kid. That said I doubt you'll find her dead on the floor again.

I hope a little humor isn't out of place.
