Should I grab a Dual Cab Short Bed, or hold out for a Long Bed? Any photos of how well a deer fits in the back of a short bed? Need to leave the tailgate down? Thanks folks!

    Lmao

We all strive to kill a deer that won’t fit in a 5x5 box

Not mine. Google seems to say it’ll fit fine though.

You won't have any trouble getting several deer in the bed of either.

If you're buying a DCLB just buy a 1/2 ton extended cab. They are the same length, with a bigger bed and rear seat. The biggest advantage of buying a Tacoma is the small exterior size. The biggest disadvantage of a Tacoma is the small interior size. A DCLB gives you all the disadvantages of a smaller cab, reduced payload and towing capacity, with the same overall length as a 1/2 ton.

But a half ton? Nah, I thought this was a Taco fanboy site? Short our long, it'll be easier than strapping it to a hitch hauler on my Ford Escape like last year!

You won’t shoot a deer big enough to not fit in a short bed.

    This ^^^

but, a long bed sure is handy if you're buying a truck so why limit yourself to a shorter bed? Just my 2 cents.

I've had 3x 200+ lb deer in the back of my DCSB under a tonneau lid. I guess if you waited until rigor mortis set in and they wouldn't bend, it might be an issue.

Guys running camper shells or open beds could probably fit enough deer in the bed to exceed capacity and still not run out of room.

    In other words, it's a non-issue.

Deer will fit fine in the back but:
1: A DCSB makes your deer look bigger
2: You are supposed to drive with the tailgate down so everybody sees your deer
