I can see where you are coming from but.... Your LCA's can take one hell of a beating though but at the same time you can improve their life span by adding the skid plates. Different brands offer different protection points for lack of a better term. I know that the BAMF LCA skids run up the LCA to block whatever from hitting the CV's but also in turn giving a root or rock something to grab onto. I guess it's all a matter of preference. You are right depending what LCA's you've got. All armor would do is keep the paint from getting scratched up.

This! Even the stock LCA don't need armor.

Sean, how much did you trim the front/rear fenders? Was that a requirement with your tire size so that it would clear off-roading?

Edit: Never mind: Read your earlier post on the 3 inch fender chop...:)

    Check the build thread.
I ran this kit with my stock front bumper on 285/70/17 and only noticed a little rubbing at full turn with some flexing. So yes, you could bolt on and go. Since I wanted a large tire on a low lift I trimmed the fenders. I don't like the fiberglass look.

It was the tire size on the low lift that the trimming was needed in order to fully use all of the up travel.

Went out for a bit this evening to get in a little exercise and breathe some fresh air.
Snapped a few photos before taking the bike down.

I see... I'm gonna assume you removed the flares and trimmed 3" off the fenders following the same lines and then re-installed the flares back on? Seems like a simple process with a good cutting tool....and tape...:)

Yes, except the fenders are trimmed maybe a 1/2" more than the flares just to hide that line a little better from view.

Sean...ordered your Rock lights.. Your pics sold me... I'm gonna wire them in 2 ways. Primary to the dome light, so they come on when I hit the unlock on the door (Vanity lights?...hell no..Insanity lights...lol) I'll never have a problem finding the truck in a large parking lot with those babies on...haha And 2, wire them in to the switch panel in the cab so I can use them off-road when needed. Sounds like a plan...
