Why did you choose the trd sport over the trd off road?

    Not a Stocko Taco.
If your planning to change everything out, there is no advantage buying one over the other. Like the post says above the big difference in the end is the hood scoop. Also the sport comes with larger rear end which I have been told is stronger.

But no factory locker....So there is one advantage, unless you plan on doing air lockers front and rear. I suppose, when you plan on changing as much as he has, there is little difference between the two. I like different things about both sport and OR.

So the only real advantage of the offroad is the factory locker? I'm just trying to figure out what is the better option? People are like I lovee the hoodscoop! Well then is it better to get the offroad and buy a hoodscoop hood? Or is it better to buy the sport and get some arb lockers? I read that the sport has a bigger (stiffer) swaybar, but not sure if that is true? I also heard the sport is the stronger of the two housings??

Sway bars are delete if you offroad a lot. A hood is a LOT cheaper than two lockers.

I like the sports because of the painted to match bumpers and grille. Typically the OR comes with chrome rear bumper and grille.

The scoop isn't functional...so...womp womp. It cant be made functional....so. Its for looks only.

Hoodscoop was nice on my sport. Some love it, some hate it. I wish I had it on my 4Runner. Swaybar doesn't matter, remove it. Stock suspension varies on the models. Sport is a tighter suspension. The factory E-Locker is nice, but if you plan on regearing, might as well throw in an air locker while you are at it.

Meh, I like em both. I'd probably buy a sport, as I don't offroad enough to need a locker. Upgrade the suspension, and sound. Wheels/tires and lighting. Little bit of armor and done. That's just me though.

I just need something more capable due to my drive to work, and my deep seeded desire to get there when others cant. I don't want my vehicular choice to hinder my reliability.

Um, well, the snow specifically, and then add in fellow drivers with poor skills, and it can get hectic quickly. Also, the counties in which I have to drive through have taken a "let all the snow fall first, then remove it" approach, it can get sketchy pretty quickly. Originally, I was driving at inopportune times, late in the evening when refreeze happens. I like having the ability to speed up quickly if I need to, to avoid a wreck, or slow down quickly for the same. Also, if I end up in a ditch, the armor keeps the damage down. Snow and ice pretty much make a locker pointless.

The added weight that I have on my 1st gen has really made a different in the stability and attitude of the truck, and the larger tires seem to have dropped the power down just enough to where it doesn't break traction very easily as well. So I can basically just drive it like I normally would.

Snow and ice are reasons to have a locker. If one tire gets traction, you can get out.

Probably not gonna get enough traction from that one tire, especially in a ditch, and it will end up just digging and sinking to the frame. Well, historically anyway. Also, I've had better luck with higher RPM's in deep snow.

Locker helps a ton in snow, it's incredible. High rpms usually make it worse if you are trying to get through deep snow, unless you just keep reversing and blasting through

Love this build. When you have the Pack Rack on, what height is it? I know currently they offer 3:

**Choose your height below ** 16" sits at rear window molding ** 18-1/2" sits just above the third brake light ** 21-1/2" sits at cab height **
