Definitely better without the mud flaps…

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
IMG_6614.jpg I recently put 35s on with a 2.25” lift and was all worried about having to remove my OEM mud flaps.

ended up being a good thing, as it’s a much cleaner look. I’m sure I’ll end up with more mud / tar, but that’s what the unlimited car wash is for. Lol

It looks nice but your paint won't be as happy with you.

What load are those Toyos? How does the I4 turn them?

Mine came without and I put them on as I got tired of rocks hitting my paint. Also hate rocks hitting my windshield so want to help prevent it for others

Mud and tar is one thing, a ton of paint chips is another. Probably don't show up as badly on white as it does on Supersonic, but I was getting a bunch of chips just from normal driving.

Well... if you travel off-pavement, your paint will suffer.

Don’t be a dick to everyone else on the road, put the flaps back on.

They're 6 ply Toyo AT3....I live 1,000 feet from my unlimited car wash, so I am not concerned w/ that. The turbo four is more than enough. I was pleasantly surprised....

Speaking of a dick, I don't drive like one, accelerate like a lunatic, and cut in front of people everywhere I go, nor do my tires stick out 3" from my fender wells like may people these days, so I'm good...thanks.

That’s all good but it doesn’t stop the rocks flinging out of the tire tread at anyone else nearby in the road.

Note the tires are 99% inside the wheel well. I'm not a Jeep Guy with 920 ducks on my window and tires sticking 10" outside my wheel well. I'm good. Thanks for the advice.

You have a lot of opinions but they’re just wrong. You will be throwing rocks at other vehicles in the road. True it won’t be as bad as the jeep with no fenders, but you’re still doing it. You will be sandblasting your paint with road debris. The damage won’t be as obvious as a darker paint but white doesn’t make it magically go away.

I appreciate the response. Those Toyos are great tires. I ran AT3's on my 3rd gen.

Yes sir. I’ve actually never had Toyo tires before, but they sure are smooth for 35x12.5x17 tires…

Not exactly cheap, but then again, not much is these days. Lol

I am very careful to not drive behind someone without flaps and/or poke.
I will slow down and let one or two cars get between us and let them eat the chips.
A lift also slightly increases the exposure to those behind you as it opens up more room for rocks to be shot out the back.

Not trying to diss the OP, but windshields on modern vehicles with self driving doo dads and automatic windshield wipers are expensive, and in some states insurance coverage for windshields is not mandatory.

I have become pretty good at fixing rock chips with a diy kit. Get about 2 a year, it happens

Without a doubt, OP will regret it soon, I've seen pics of stock white Tacomas with severe road rash, even with OEM flaps, y'all have come to the consensus to either install running boards or clear wrap.

I’m in the same camp. If I see a truck with fat tires, I won’t follow them if I have another lane I can use.

From what I can see, @BMunster wheels and tires look cool. Need more pics. :D

If it were me, I would add some Rokblokz mudflaps.
