Looking great! Been wanting some spindles myself..

Are you running the stock gears? if so, how does it drive with the 34s?

I was running stock gears for about a week but I was already planning on doing an ARB locker and regear to 4.88's. For the week that I did not have the gears, it was not bad. Obviously there is the loss of power but on the freeway you could definitely tell it was hunting for gears but wasn't that bad. I just got done with my 500 mile break in period and will be changing the diff oil today. I haven't "gotten on it" at all, just to make sure I have a good break in for the gears and locker, but i can definitely tell you that I am now getting my usual 20-22 on the freeway. As far as the 34's go, I am extremely happy with them. Very little tire noise, I usually don't hear it though with my music around volume 20-25. If your 2wd and want bigger tires, I highly recommend the maxtrac spindles and Deaver U402. Rides like butter.

    Hey all!
I am trying to decide between the 2019 SR 4cyl and a 2015 TRD 6cyl. It would be nice to have a new car but I don't want to spend 30k. I will mostly drive it 8 miles a day with a bit more on the weekends. I'll pull a trailer with a pair of jetskis on it in the summer. In the winter I would like to be able to go with the Jeepers on the snow-covered roads. Any reason to not get the new 4 popper with the crazy auto transmission? Oh, it will for sure be 4x4 and either the double cab or the extra cab.

    Thanks

Id go with the 2015 v6. Will have quite a bit more low end grunt for towing your jet skis

    Welcome btw!

go on the hunt for a used truck, most have CARFAX reports and maybe some sort of warranty included. I didn't want to pay for a new truck so I found a used one and upgraded the maintainence items, brakes, shocks myself and add on Toyota reliability. got mine for $25,000 total

2015 TRD offroad or Pro is the way to go in my opinon. You got the 4x4 and electronic locking diff.

Either one can handle a couple jet skis and cruising thru the snow. But for only using it 8 miles a day and a bit more on weekends, get the 2015 and save some money. That is, if the 2015 is the right price and in the right condition. But I suspect, since you included it in a possible buy, you already think it's fine and meets your needs.

Here's my bike hauler. Only changes are 265/70/r16 Dynapro ATMs, OEM skid plate, BPF tow hook, bed extender, fork mounts, some audio stuff, and Baja Squadron Sports in Amber WC. Love it so far. No regrets with the 2.7, mostly for peace of mind/reliability reasons.

@dixiedog26 did your truck come with power windows and locks? Im guessing all the double cabs had the convenience package(power windows and locks) since ive never see the roll down type windows in those

Yes it did, I don’t think manual was an option.

Oh yea. I’ve posted in here a few times awhile back.

2.7 DCSB is alright. As far as I know, it wasn’t offered in 4x4 or with a 5sp manual. Which sucks more than the fact that it’s pretty under powered.

All Tacomas have power windows and door locks standard. The convenience package adds remote keyless entry.

This may be the case on the 3rd gens, but 2nd gens did not all have power windows and locks standard. The convenience package for 2nd gens included power windows and locks. Wish I had a keyless FOB, but I do not, just a good ol key. Kinda sucks when it's raining lol
