With the temps in the low teens and snow and ice here in NH the defroster is not designed right. Both sides freeze up quickly and the top by the rear view mirror. Heat on as high as it can go and full defrost does not solve this issue. To hot in the cab to tolerate that temp too long. Anyone else have this issue. Love my truck but this just will not make me a returning customer.

No issue with mine and I live in Utah and had lots of of highs in the teens with plenty of snow. Windows clear fast and never had the mirror ice up.

Do you have the setting on fresh air or recirculate?

Make sure the setting is on fresh air and try using the AC. The AC will help dry the out the air in the vehicle.

Also check if you have moisture in the vehicle. Like snow and ice on the floor matts. The frost comes from having high humidity.

Clean your windshield real good. I always notice a huge difference in de frosting/fogging with a clean windshield. my theory is that its less for the moisture to grab onto.

No problem on the inside. All ice is on the outside. Defroster is on fresh air and full hot. It gets hot inside. The both sides of the windshield freeze up fast and the top center does the same

Outside mirrors are heated. No problem whit them. I was saying the inside top windshield freezes up by the inside mirror.

Do you have the auto climate control or manual? I live in NH. And have manual and it works great.

My side windows frost up quick on my sport with heat in defrost mode. I usually just change it to head and feet and aim the circular outside vents at th windows. Mind you its also -20*c here

the 2017 vents are fixed and can not be turned toward the windshield. You are talking about the side window vents? My other vents do move but cant be postioned toward the front

I don't own a third gen so maybe irrelevant. My mirrors are constantly covered in condensation when I leave for work at 5am. I wipe those fuckers off so I can see and go about my day. Maybe you can try something like that?

Oh didnt read the full post, sounded like your side windows. I have had no issue with windsheild frost except maybe a 1-2" strip at the top which does not affect my visibility.

I applied some aquapel to my windows since I HATE using wipers. seems to have made ice scraping easier. But in any vehicle I've owned. Ice buildup from frost overnight takes some time to defrost.

I live in Canada and have no problems clearing my windshield. Maybe op has stuff on his dash blocking airflow or something.

My windshield clears up fine, but the driver and passenger windows always fog up with the defroster on. The problem is not affected by the amount of moisture in the vehicle, same if dry or wet.

Quick workaround is to point the side vents at the window and the small bit of air that leaks out clears them up!
