I just ordered and received a db3 and a programmer. I can’t program it! Does anyone have a login they are willing to share so I can get this thing programmed? I hate to have to send it back. I understand if no one wants to but I just thought I’d give it a shot before I send it back.

    Got @Billherman sorted out.

Everyone else, please see the update I've made on the first post of this thread. I can no longer recommend DEI products. Take your money elsewhere.

(Also, the Apple Watch app has been broken for the entire month that WatchOS4 has been out in the public, with zero sign of any updates from DEI)

Subbed. I'm bummed at the recent update as winter is coming upon us and I was looking for an inexpensive way to get remote start on my Taco. My local dealership wants to charge me $479 for a compustar remote start kit.....crazy

@koloheboy It seems not all is lost. Free market to the rescue.

A quick glance on ebay shows that some enterprising folks are selling the DB3 or DBALL2 modules and including flashing the units for your vehicle. That would effectively get around Directed's move and allow you to follow the DIY instructions (just skip the flashing parts).

As I've not used any of the ebay sellers, I cannot vouch for any of them and thus won't direct-link anyone in particular.

Personally, I still think this is a crap move on DEI's part and would suggest folks look to a different vendor who doesn't pull this shyt -- i.e. Fortin

Great thread, sad to see the negativity, there are those who want a simple plug and play while others can do it with some background into installing alarms.

To make the connection from the alarm to the truck/car I used posi-taps and have always had great success. There are wires that do need to be cut like the starter wire but thats not a problem as long as I reverse the connections and re-solder the wires.

I hope you guys also did a good job at hiding the brain as well add a battery backup system.

I didn't pay attention. Fairly thick wire. If I'm remembering correctly, I disassembled its connector (i.e. took the metal parts out of the plastic connector), then soldered my power lead to the crimp, and used a small zip-tie holding the first inch of two wires together to provide strain relief.

is there a link to a install for that one ? i can't seem to find a good one and i am going with Posi-Tap for the hook up..
just looking for what wire to where without all the extras.. just doing the 3 lock start

So, Fortuna should work? These hot southern summers have gotten me reconsidering this.

So the EVO-ALL comes with the THAR-ONE-TOY7 or was that extra? Was it that easy to install?

Had to get them separate / ebay about $75 for the plug , at the time i had a hard time getting the wire set ? sold out maybe? don't know if you can get them as a set.
I also had to get the Flash link updater to flash my truck info on to it,and change anything else i wanted to, but it was cheeper for me as i also was putting one on my wife's car.
it was easier to watch a youtube video and then read the sheet. / a few clips and a few screws and snap off a panel or two and your there.
took longer to set every thing up than to plug it in, plus if i want to add anything i can just re-flash it to suit. just get the right plug for your truck,
    also i used
Fortin THAR-TOY6 Toyota / Lexus T Harness for Select Push Start Vehicles

Hey guys so I have a 2018 dcsb trd sport. I bought it used last year but it was basically new with only a couple thousand miles. Anyway, it came with a remote starter already installed. I have no idea which one is installed but there is separate key fob that came with my truck. I like the OEM smart key and the last thing I wanna do is carry around an extra key fob. Do you think it's likely that the unit I have can be programmed to work with the OEM key fob?

    First Off, Welcome to TW!
There are different brands of remote start systems for our trucks. What may help to answer your question is if you take a picture of the remote start control module or at the very least, the remote you are referring to. It could be a stand alone system with a long range remote or a D-Ball or Fortin with added RF remote capabilities.

So I checked and the system installed in my truck is a “blade-al.” I checked the website and it’s a little confusing. It seems like there is a way to program the oem key fob to operate the remote start, I just don’t understand how to do that.

Hey, just installed my KBVoodoo starter and having an amber light on the starter when trying to program it, instead of a red light.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    *update*

I went to town and got a local remote starter shop to reprogram the DBALL2 and now I only get a solid red light, once the ignition is on. I’d doesn’t go green at all.

    Thanks in advance
