Good morning Delaware + Friends.

Welp, I trimmed one of the trees in our front yard and aerated the patchy grass in our front yard yesterday.

Adding that cinder block really dug into the soft dirt...which was a good thing for the seeds to be able to bury itself after I manually watered the yard.

It was nightfall by the time I finished watering the grass...was wearing shorts/flip flops and hoody...had to put on sweats/socks/shoes because it was darn cold! lol

 

I need to do some yard maintenance as well. Maybe some preemerge stuff and then trimming bushes.
I wait till May/June to mulch after the cherry blossoms bloom and fall.

 

Today is the First Day of Spring...according to AI/Internet/Calendar Seasons.

I've been trying to revive my yard for the past 5 years...I'm hoping (again) my labor of love will pay off! lol

 

maybe this year will be it!

I'll take more pics in May...by then, I should see results...maybe sooner.

 

Good morning Delaware + Neighboring States...Happy Friday!

Okay, so a couple of taskers/chores were completed this week...the wood floors being the most recently done last night.

I don't care for Roomba's loud turbine noise when she dumps her load at charging base but I've noticed there isn't as much debris--she was hard broke for a couple of days and the floors were filthier because of it.

Anyhow, the master bathroom is nice and tidy and smelling less like a litter box pen--the kitties have their Cat Condo and feeding bowls in there.

Tonight, I gotta pack for our overnighter at the beach; we got a Couple's Massage between 3-4 pm and it's gonna be GOOD!

We've been doing this annual celebration since 2016...wife and I celebrate 35 years married--I met her 36 years ago on my mother's Bday (Feb 4th).

I got 10 days and a wake up before I take my Sport in for her Suspension Upgrade...and celebrate my 14th year retired from Active Duty on the same day--April Fool's! lol

Have a great day everyone...I got a haircut appointment to goto after work...wife wants to go grocery shopping today since we check-in to the hotel tomorrow.

 

Another day, another driver from NJ screwing up the flow of traffic.

Every. Single. Day. WHY?!

 

That's the beauty of living in the TriState Area.

Delaware...the small state it is...gets out-of-state drivers that pull the same driving style they bring with them from their home state.

I'm further south so I mostly see it during the Summer months when folks are flocking to the Delaware Beaches.

Route 1 has gone through some changes in the past 10 years...and it's getting more updates on the stretch to the Delaware Beaches from Dover.

Looking forward to Summer and my birthday in June!

We’ve got the hvac company coming today for spring/summer check up then gotta take my kid to get a hair cut.

I decided to take the day off today before I gotta start driving into the office everyday next week.

The Toyota dealer is supposed to let me know when 2 Camrys sharp up at the dealership. One in Ocean Gem and the other in Heavy Metal. Maybe if I like how they drive and feel I’ll reluctantly get one. Wife does not agree with me spending 5K on a 90s Toyota for a commuter, since I’ll be leaving before 4am every morning. With gas at $3 or more a gallon, it’ll be cheaper to have another car payment, insurance and gas for a more fuel efficient car, than a month of gas for my truck

No one knows how to drive. NJ is also terrible lol

 

It’s absolutely endless. And I drive 13 from Delaware city to Smyrna and every day there’s some moron from NJ who makes me want to commit violence. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t angry by the time I got to work.

 

I really try not to get angry driving. Sometimes it’s so difficult. Why is it so hard to do the speed limit. They might not have anywhere to go, but I want to be in my car as little as possible.

 

The thing I noticed is everyone seems to want to group up while driving. I’m the opposite. I want to be further away from everyone as possible. Let me just cruise in the right lane at 3 over the speed limit. Don’t box me in and don’t bother tailgating.

 

Yeah! I'm not going to forget my wife calling me Cinderella and me replying back, "Yes, Wicked Step-mother!"

$5K for a 90s economy vehicle isn't too expensive.

People's personality behind the wheel of a car can be erratic...I'm a defensive driver because even Delaware plated vehicles do stupid moves.

 

I try my best to drive like everyone else is regarded and do not have auto insurance

 

Bro I’d love to find like a 1998 Corolla or Camry with low miles and make that my daily.

5k and none of the dumb stuff these new cars come with? Sounds awesome

 

OMG!

That crap happens a lot on my way up to Wilmington...I've driven on the autobahn and seeing vehicles not overtake and get over to the right just baffles me.

Why would drivers stay neck and neck with another knowing other vehicles are behind waiting to overtake?

I honestly believe people do this just to get a rise out of others.

In fact, there's other stupid moves people do to irritate drivers...I'll stop right there.

I wanna stay positive and focus away negative topics. lol

 

Yeah it bothers me. Roads like route 1 and 13 really encourage this behavior. Once you have a 3 lane road, this is typically mitigated
