Good morning Delaware.

Forgot to mention I was cleared by Occ Health to go back to work on Monday.

Man, I definitely don't like reviewing emails that accumulated while I was gone--I got over it real quick! lol

This Saturday marks 12 years since I officially retired from active duty--the ceremony was in Feb at Aviano AB, Italy.

It is truly remarkable that I was given an opportunity to have a Logistics career for so long.

Transitioning to civilian sector was a greater challenge earlier in that time.

I'm still learning how to slow down in this environment called the civilian workforce.

I did a Covid home test last night which was negative...woohoo!

Wife will do a home test today (since her positive result was delayed a couple days after me).

We've got this weekend to celebrate our anniversary again!

I'll also be celebrating my 12 year anniversary retirement from Active Duty tomorrow. It's no April Fool's Day joke!!!

It's a rainy Saturday morning...the first day of April...which also happens to be my military retirement date!

Time has seriously gone by so quick.

If you add the time in service (25yrs) + the 12 years that is 37 years that I left Los Angeles, CA. (I was 19)

I married a Scottish Lass on my first overseas tour to England and raised 2 daughters who are now both married.

How we got to Delaware in 2006 is another life event that we owe the USAF for sending us here.

EQUAL list selection in order of preference for 2S071 was: (1) Nellis AFB, (2) Scott AFB and (3) Dover AFB.

Neither of the other bases were near the beach!

So, other than saying, "White Rabbit" 3Xs this morning, we are happy to dog-sit for our daughter who is going site seeing in DC with another couple.

This time next week, we'll have seen Depeche Mode and will be site seeing in Toronto (Lord Willing).

This weather happening in the TriState area is a trip.

Rain/Thunderstorms/Wind/Tornado Warnings all make for a magnificent skyline.

My wife's Elantra handled the trip from Dover to northeast Baltimore to dog-sit.

We recently had all 4 tires (OEM Khumo) changed after roughly 42K miles on the original set of Khumos.

Wife's car will be 5 years old in May--all its scheduled MX done by the dealership. (Air injectors cleaned/tune-up/4-wheel alignment/oil change)

It's going to be fun driving her car up north to Toronto later this week--splitting the trip with an overnight stay in northern NY.

I've got a 3-day workweek to create some kind of continuity for my assigned area.

It's probably gonna seem like I won't have time to do much but it's not the first time I've had to deal with this kind of situation. You would think I've learned a thing or two...lol

It's a travel day...looks like there's marginal risk of severe weather in midwest NY.

Just over 300 miles of travel today in roughly 5+ hours.

This will be our first time in the state of NY....just my wife and I.

I love driving her Elantra so this will be a fun drive!

Early night and early rise. We got a 3hr/51min (240 miles) drive to Toronto today.

 

We are just an hour away from ScotiaArena opening!

The morning after the DM concert. Man, was I tired after the show.

Thoroughly enjoyed being so close and all the songs played.

Word of advice from our eldest daughter...ear plugs are a must!

The bass vibrations were felt on my eyes/face...can't imagine what it does to your ear drums.

Breakfast and then venture out to the city.

Time to depart Toronto. It's been fun but now heading back home.

Not doing the whole trip in one day...stopping in Northern NY for the night...about 243 miles from here.

Just got home from Syracuse, NY. (Inner Harbor area)

Stayed in Liverpool last Thursday...which was a fun time!

I found an IPA I like...Juice Bomb Northeastern IPA from Sloop Brewing.

Do you know they only sell beers at Gas Stations in NY? We went to a Liquor Store and found out they only sell wine/spirits. lol

DM was a fun time. I enjoyed the show but I think my wife was more enthusiastic once she found out how much these tickets were. lol

We stopped in Niagra Falls on Easter Sunday on our way back to Syracuse. OMG, the Canada side is much more scenic!

I must say, we enjoyed our stay in Toronto! We'd go again but travel towards Montreal/Ottawa/Quebec.

Thank you Canada! I have a sticker I'm considering putting on my back window...Red Maple Leaf with the word "eh" inside it! lol
