    Good morning Delaware.

    Enjoy the golf game @Strictlytoyz.

Wife and I are having coffee and lounging. We're going to the Fifer Orchards Peach Festival later. Looks like a moderately sunny day.

@Strictlytoyz --as long as you enjoyed the camaraderie on the course!

Fifer Orchards Peach Festival was just a stroll through vendors at the train tracks...we were there less than an hour.

I suggested Harvest Ridge Winery in MaryDel...we did some wine flights and then went to a Bar&Grill in Sudlersville, MD.

We concluded the day at our friend's parents home...they were setting up to watch the fight (which did not stay for) but stayed for ribs/pulled pork and all the trimmings.

Today it's grocery shopping/meal prep day.

    Hey Delaware,

Hopefully, everyone got through last night's storm with no damages.

It was quite the spectacle of lightning for sure!

Anyone playing MegaMillions for tonight's drawing?

Very nice Connor and nice bike!

I've got an '82 GS750T that I parked on center stand back in 2014. (She's the one in my avatar)

Most of my riding was done while I was working for Boeing at Holloman AFB, NM back in 2013. At some point, I'll have her put back together.

Hope you had a nice ride afterwards.

only ride i has was a ride back to middletown lol. having someone from work hopefully ultrasonic clean it, then put her back together and take off all the extra emissions bs to clean it up. it’s gonna take several weeks, at least till i’m back down there again

Good looking bike, never owned one. I've always been a dirtbike guy. Sold all my dirt scooters before moving up here from Florida though

You fellas have any suggestions for “retiree” friendly towns in Delaware? My parents are considering it.

Needs to be quiet and in a good area. No they are not moving next to the Christiana Mall or a town like Newark or Wilmington.

Or maybe you’ll respond with “get off my lawn”

    Thanks

I've only been here about a year but I have no complaints about the area I'm in. I'm centralized in the Felton area. Quiet friendly neighborhood. Little over an hour to the beaches, 20 minutes to Dover for shopping. I'll let the others that have been here longer chime in.

Ugh looking at your location, the whole Maui thing must hurt. Absolutely awful. Those islands are so beautiful.

How are the people in Felton? I worry about the culture in lower DE. We hail from the fast pace northeast, they claim to want slower pace, farmland, but they’ve never lived in it, so I’m torn.

Definitely going through some rough times right now back home. Thankfully my family is safe. I definitely feel for those that weren't so fortunate.

I haven't had any bad experiences with anyone in my area. I do however spend most of my time in my garage lol. Most the folks on my street are retirees or prior military so idk if I just lucked out or not but everyone's friendly on my street :notsure:. Also helps that I'm on a dead end street so not much traffic unless you live in this part of the neighborhood. Others will probably have more information here. I just got stationed here a little over a year ago. I'm active duty Air Force.

I figured you were active duty given the location (who just up and moves to DE?!)

    Thanks for the input

DE isn’t all that bad. I’ve lived in worse (cough cough Maryland).

I figure Mr @TacoTime55 will have some input lol

What can I say I was spoiled. Born and raised in Hawaii. Joined the Air Force at 21 and my first duty station was at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. Spent 9 years there till I got the "congratulations" were moving you to Delaware! Lol. Could be worse I don't mind it here. It's quiet and I'm closer to some decent offroad parks.

@TacoTime55 is usually the one that gets the ball rolling in here. He must be in trouble again for spending too much time on here

    @Just A Guy

That's interesting you mention me for input. lol

I have lived near Dover AFB since transferring from Ramstein AB, Germany in 2006.

We've been in the same home since September of the same year.

There are several 55 and over communities...new ones recently built too.

Many nice developments that are pricey but quiet.

If they are like the development we live in, most people keep to themselves.

Not much else to say about Delaware...I'm from SoCal/LA so this state is "Green Acres" compared to where I grew up. lol

I don’t read this as a gleaming review of DE. Guess it all depends on the neighborhood, but I will read between the lines of your tone.
