Hello, 1st post - wondering if there was any resolution to this?
I just had the NSS replaced in my 2008 4Runner with 240k and now having a delay (sometimes) when going from R to D - never happened prior. Trans fluid flushed by reputable shop @ 170k when I purchased the vehicle and no leaks currently. Mechanic said to keep an eye on it and will order another NSS if need be.

Your transmission is computer controlled . If for some reason the new nuetral safety switch is faulty , you will get delays , however , you should see a computer code as well . What are the chances you have a code scanner ?

I have a code scanner, which is how I was originally able to determine NSS was bad as shifter was getting tight and eventually threw a code. I'm aware it's all electronically controlled; I was just curious if OP was able to remedy the situation either by another NSS or some other means.
