I have a 2017 Tacoma with a remote starter there are times it wont start after 3 attempts.
noticed and has been to the deal many times for it and first time we found out the secondary fuel pump was going bad because of a loud squealing noise. Truck Started fine for about a year and now its acting up again and the dealer thinks in nuts for thinking it the secondary fuel pump again and keep blaming the remote starter they installed. any suggestions

Mine doesn't start sometimes. I always chalk it up to a timing issue. If mine doesn't start sometimes I'll unlock then try again. Or just lock 3 times. Usually it'll start. Unless you're talking about the engine just cranking over but never starting? Could be a multitude of things. Fuel pump, security system, remote starter etc.

    working on it!
This has happened to me before. Just restart the truck as normal, then try remote start again and it should work. I assumed it was due to an Entune update that had just happened in my case.

I don't believe Entune has anything to do with the remote start system in 2017 models.

The factory remote start. Press the remote lock button 3 times, 1 second apart. Hold the 3rd press until the lights flash and the engine starts.

I had the same issue. It was caused by a week battery. Replaced the battery and haven’t had an issue since (it’s been 2 years).
