Hello everyone! Just took my 16 TRD sport in for its first shop visit for the bulletin I read about the delayed transmission. I was personally experiencing a delay from reverse back to drive. Truck has 600 miles on it so its brand new and haven't been able to test out the cruise control yet. I initially called the dealership to ask about the software update for the transmission and they had no clue what I was talking about( might as well be talking in Spanish) I than called corporate and imidiately the service director called me within the hour and had all the details about this update. Told me to bring it in and it'll be taken care of. Also good to mention was that he said "only me and he master machanical really know about this update since its been just released by Toyota to all dealerships. Pretty much saying " we only fix it if you complain to the right people that can actually make decisions. It took 45 mins and so far it seemed to have worked..... So far ( fingers crossed)

The only thing I curious about is the way they worded in the service record.

"Customer complaint about vehicle has delay in shifting and harsh shifting. Transmission concern including light on, shifting, leak or other"
    Continued...
Customer complaint of harsh shift when in reverse. Updated PCM and TCM and hard shift is gone. Test drove no lights on and truck drives correctly." This is exactly what is written on the service receipt. Anyone else had this experience. I keep seeing perform TSB at dealership. What does PCM and TCM mean. The service advisor kinda just rushed me out the door!

No it did not say they checked fluid level and I forgot to ask. I did read something about its connection with low tranny fluid with tow packages. Does the pcm and TCM the software update everyone was talking about?

I believe so. That's where you would adjust the shift points for the transmission.
