So would my 98 gauges with a tach be plug and play with an 02 w/ a tach?

 

Yes as long as it came from the same engine. The RPM's would read differently if you use a I4 Cluster on a v6

 

Yep - same engine, same transmission

 

Double check the '98 Cluster doesn't have a spot for a cable driven sprocket. Some digital clusters were cable driven but had a mechanical converter during 1998.

 

Do you happen to have this stupid piece behind the key cylinder?

I’m assuming Toyota wouldn’t change it from what you have to a V6

No I sold the locks complete last week

 

The thing came right out after pulling three connectors so I guess it's all electrical. I just wanted to make sure the connectors were the same.

 

I'll take a picture of my cabled cluster that way you can match up and see if it's the same
