i think my last post got taken down because i failed to include a picture. my bad, and my apologies to anyone that replied that i may not have seen. hopefully the attached picture works, i'll get a new one that includes the cap ASAP.

165k silver 2005 TRD Off Road Tacoma, had a frame swap right before i bought it ~45k ago, you can stil lsee the stickers on it. new wheel bearings 40K ago, been a great truck until this new issue.

comes with a color matching bed cap, which has some minor corner damage (guessing PO set it down on the corners on concrete or something, but it doesn't leak), brand new OEM bed liner, small dent on the rear bumper, spot of rust on the drivers door- about a half inch.

Now on to the truck- it has some sort of an issue- I was getting a bit of a shimmy at highway speeds and felt like the truck was searching for the right gear at times, thought it was transmission so took it to an AAMCO, they said that it's low compression and the trans getting bad signals so not knowing what the proper shift points should be etc so actually a motor issue. They said motor swap is the recommended fix and quoted me something like 5600 for a used motor + labor, which i don't want to do, and don't have the means to tear into it myself to see what's actually wrong. Perhaps it's a vacuum leak or worn rings, or a head gasket, or any number of fixable other things that may be causing low compression, I don't know, and I don't have the space/time to wrench on the truck myself right now, and don't want to spend the $$ to pay a mechanic find out. while i like the truck a lot, to be honese i drive 80+ highway miles a day and gettin ga commuter car makes more sense than fixing it right now. my loss/ your gain.

Anyhow, since I don't know exactly what the truck is worth given the unknown nature of the problem ... i'm asking 7K OBO. i'm planning on getting it to Carmax soon, if they offer me something close to that i'll sell it on the spot, if their offer is lower i'll bring it back home and try for another week on here before just cutting my losses.

CarMax is offering me 6k. I, however, forgot to bring the title with me (oops) so couldn't sell it on the spot. I'll be going back tonight at 8 to finalize the sale but figured I'd post on here if there's anyone that wants to match/beat their offer before then. It's currently at CarMax Laurel MD.
