I would think manufacturers would put those on at the factory, if it made much of a difference. Manufacturers do some stupid stuff sometimes. Especially to save a couple bucks. See the whole GM ignition fiasco.

I still get phone calls/cards in the mail, from GM about the ignition/key fob like every other week. When I take it to get serviced they ask if I want to keep it or change it.

I keep it, they tell me no problem.

The next week I get another call/mail telling me about the recall.
