Too much to go wrong with actual cash. Typically need 3 people there to count and verify. GM and managers freak out about cash. The whole IRS form as well is a pain. Certified check or bank wire is way easier and secure. Plus you don’t need the IRS being up in your business!

 

Who cares how anxious you were to part with your money or how rare and precious your purchase was...

Now you own a used truck and you went through some unneeded misery because you didn't know what would happen by paying cash. You could have gone in and put a healthy cash deposit on the truck, and gone to your bank to buy a cashier's check for the balance, and saved yourself all the angst. Or you could have written a personal check after depositing the extra cash after making the deposit.

We're all glad you got what you wanted, no they couldn't repo a truck they'd released after being paid, and now we can all stick a fork in it...
