most people would argue you wouldn't be putting a 2wd in a situation where you'd need a snorkel because it probably wouldnt make it etc

That’s the popular perception, but snorkels actually do much more. In dry or dusty areas like the Southwest, dust is actually a bigger hazard to your air intake than water or at the very least a more persistent issue. Dusty conditions can wreak havoc on your air filter, choking your engine and reducing performance. They function much like a cyclonic vacuum cleaner, spinning the majority of dust and debris out of the air before it ever hits your air filter. Snorkels are not totally primarily used too keep water from the intake. There main benefits are to keep cleaner and cooler air going through the air filter and intake when used in dusty off-road conditions. Of coarse it also can help with deep water or keeping debri and mud away as well. In general most people will use them way more for air quality than water crossing that are up to the hood.

Lol i know what snorkels are used for. Again, most people would argue a 2wd in that environment in the first place is probably not going to get you very far

Lol in what "environment"? ...You have to have a 4x4 to drive on a dirt road? Or on a trail? Most people would be mis-informed then on how capable a 2wd truck with a locker is then imo:thumbsup:

seriously, I've thrown my fair share of poo on this forum in the past, and was mostly just playing devil's advocate, because i have a 2wd and have always wanted a snorkel and was wanting a reason to do it  @FirstGen Jer
