I live in the mountains of PA, snow country.

In Dec 2007 I purchased a new 2008 TRD OFF-Road. With the stock tires that came with the TRD. The BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires.

The very first snow, I knew I had a problem. This snow came in about a week from the TRD purchase.

I had traded a Ford E150, econoline/van 2WD, for the TRD; and the van handled better in the snow than the TRD. When I say handled better; it drove safer on the road.

The TRD had more traction in 4x4, going up hills and such; but was a handful on snowy, crowned, two lane roads. The E150 would track better that the TRD.

I immediately bought another set of wheels; and put a set of Cooper Weathermaster tires on them. Once on the truck, the snow covered roads were no problem. The truck would then track fine.

So I put the original tires back on in the Spring; and drove the during summer weather until I could throw them out.

Why would Toyota put such a crappy tire on one of their best mid-size trucks?

Good to know that's what the issue is & thanks for the response bud! It still rolls down fine as long as you add some extra pressure with your hand while it cycles downward.

My AC unit's switch failed right after I got it. They sprayed so much engine dressing on that it caused an electrical failure right after I got the truck. :(

Left rear tail light assembly broke internally. at 40K I noticed the whole tail lite assembly was crooked, took it apart and it was broken where one of the mount screws held it on. Cheap plastic crap. For the absurd price of a new one, I PC-7 glued a washer on it and put it back together. So far, so good.

 What the hell did you do to them?? Mine have 32k on them and look new.

Anyway, my only "failure" has been the battery. Lasted 3 years.

grey paint finish on the inside of the holes on the face of the 17" TRD rims started doing the bubbling thing after about 2.5 years, dealer had them refinished, again about 2 years later did the same thing. second thing was a melted fog light after about 3-4 years, next was the time/temp thing in the roof. i think thats about all i can remember. besides those issues, any other problems were from stuff i did while modding stuff, like cracked the clips on the a/c controls plate after removing it several times or trees i scraped or something like that :) not a single problem mechanically AT ALL, only warranty work i ever really had done was the rims, only other stuff was from the couple recalls.

Only the OEM tires which started cracking at 18K. Replaced under BFG warranty with All Terrain T/A's.

Now at 27K and still no other issues.
