    I was an S4/S5 driver; >55 mph.
I have put 80 miles on since the TSB.
I am now a happy D mode driver.
Seriously; it's a night and day difference.

I think there already is one for your truck.

No there isn't a recall, just a TSB that this thread is about.

I don't think they ever do that.
It's sort of like a secret warranty, if the customer comes in for a particular concern, they look for a TSB and if it matches the complaint on the TSB and affected VIN they apply it.
Let's be glad for forums, as they bring out secrets out into the light.
    Hope that helps.
    Cheers!

It would be a major improvement other issues are my rear diff which was just replaced is already faintly making the same sound again....so toyota did not address root cause it would seem. Also leaf springs.

It was probably a swipe at me, I’m on his A$$ and cross-hairs constantly lolo!
Moreover, I like smtty non-the less. It’d be dead boring here without him & his partners in crime.

But relax, It was a just J/k dude, chill I have no intention of taking my brand (almost) new truck to the stealership.
Last time I did that, I took my 13yr old 4R to replace my cracked dashboard under special Toyota extended warranty to all owners with a cracked dash. While I was there, they did a upgrade flash that they’d been hounding me to do for 3yrs to prevent a so called run away concern that even NASA couldn’t replicate.
On my way home from the stealership, I made a stop, and when I re-started my truck, sure nuff my dash lit up like a Christmas tree.
You can just imagine my disgust!! Grrrr!!!
When I got home I went to my desk and pulled out a paper clip to do a zero point calibration that was improperly performed. Probably because of the truck’s age, it happens a lot. lolo!
    SO thanks but no thanks.
    The control arm plugs??
I did hear a whistle a couple of times on a cross wind in the six months of ownership, nothing there to write home about, the plugs may or may not fix that, either way I haven’t heard it in months or may not hear it ever, so it’s not a worry for me.
Hope that helps puts your mind at easy, but I doubt it lmaoo!
    Cheers!

BTW...Has anyone noticed that the TSB says nothing about the concern happening when the engine's cold?? What's up with that?
I had that condition for the first three days of ownership and it went away for me, and I figured it would go away for others also. My VIN is affected but I have no such concern or issues.

Yep noticed it too but I always just stop and shift either D to R or vice versa and keep my foot on the brake til i feel it engage. When it does after 1-2 seconds I release the brake so I never notice a slip warm or cold.

I just want to see if the shift points change or have it drive like S4 /S5 while in D at lower speeds.

Yes, I'm always looking for more performance, never can get nuff of that fine stuff hehe!
One thing NEVER to do with an automatic transmission is going from R-D without stopping completely with your brakes.
If you let the transmission do the stopping, It will cost you dearly in the end.
Maybe one the reasons some ppl need extended warranties vs others who go 300-400k+ with no issues??
    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!

Are the control arm plugs a warranty or recall thing also?

They fall under a TSB so if you complain about the noise and demonstrate the condition to the tech, they will order and install the plugs free of charge as part of the warantee. They will not perform it automatically.

Much easier and less BS......just to go to Home Depot and for about $2.00.. pick up the plugs... Easy peasy..!!

It is a TSB, most likely you could bring yours in with the trd sport...it has the v6 and you have an auto.

Look at your vin number and start looking at 4th digit...if you see any of these in your vin then you are eligible to bring your truck in to have the TSB done.

    AZ5CN, BZ5DN, CZ5AN, DZ5BN, EZ5CN, GZ5AN, RZ5CN, and SZ5AN.

Just got my 2016 a few weeks ago and have been having the same issues as everyone else. Called Toyota Corp last week after Dealer said they would NOT check fluid if they couldn't reproduce issues. Two days later got a call telling me to bring it in. 1/2 quart low, but they told me last Tuesday that flash upgrade was not yet available. That doesn't seem to be the case from what I'm reading here? Why wouldn't my dealer know it is available??

It was released on the 14th, last Thursday so it wasn't available when you asked.

There should be one larger one smaller than the rest on each arm, I'd leave those alone for proper drainage.
    Hope that helps

For those of you with the delay from P to R or R to D, how long is this delay? I'm not quite sure I have this but sometimes My shift change is definitely not immediate, but it's not like I'm waiting 2-3 seconds either.
