I feel like my P-D is a little rough and is about a 1 second delay. Hopefully that'll clear up after the reflash

This is what I think I'm experiencing. I've been having to always make sure to wait a little over a second before stepping on the gas when shifting.

Great. I'm 54 and this is my first Toyota. Should have done some research before buying this truck. Way too many issues for a new truck, especially one from a manufacturer that lives on it's reputation for reliability and dependability. Wasn't expecting this. Could of just bought a GMC Canyon and at least that way I would have expected problems.

My 10K service is coming up, and I do not want the new update. My trans has been perfect since day 1, and I don't want any new problems introduced. I'm hoping they will honor my request of no updates.

It's a first year redesign, there are always kinks in these situations. It's a TSB, show me a manufacturer that's never had a recall or something simple like this. It's nothing, I absolutely love my Tacoma, so what if it needs a small update. Don't worry about it, just enjoy it.

They usually will not do anything unless you complain of an issue that's specific to the TSB itself. Think of a TSB as an addition to the troubleshooting / diagnostics guide, "If customer complains of this symptom, do this procedure to correct."

A recall on the other hand usually involves the safe operation of a vehicle and are usually done on a mandatory basis.

Most are don't know because the majority of the trucks already had it done at the factory since the TSB for the 4 cylinder came out in September of 2015

Feel like they don't even know what a tsb is. I have to cancel cruise control if I want it to upshift after a hill. Stays in 4th. And just in general not a smooth operating Transmission

Im the same way, S3 around town, same issues as everyone here has stated, although I havent used CC yet, but 2 of 3 issues confirmed is good enough for me. I would hope the dealer would check the fluid level first before doing any TSB adjustments. Diagnostics 101 verifying fluid level is the first place to start, maybe this will force them to do this first now.

    Indeed....They SHOULDN'T do anything w/o you asking as it's a TSB, not a recall....

Mine will up-shift after a hill but takes a little longer than I like, however with cruise off I have no issues whatsoever, it rarely down shifts if cruise is off and I maintain speed. It is more of the cruise control being too aggressive.

I don't ask any questions on here without "simple search" first. There is no simple search with millions of post. Half of which are people arguing or talking shit. The only thing that comes up when I searched for transmission tsb or even 4cyl Transmission tsb is this new tsb for the v6s. Also just got back from dealer who stated they reflashed it. Driving home my cruise control seemed to be hunting for gears more often and still stays in 4th after downshifting. I'm honestly over it.

I just had my 10k service, they told me no such TSB exists. When was it released? Maybe it hasn't made it into their system yet?

For you 4 cyl guys. Here's what I had seen.

Here is the TSB for the 4 cylinder .
Some 2016 year Tacoma vehicles equipped with the 2TR-FE engine and the AC60 6 speed automatic transmission may exhibit a shift flare during the 2-3 up shift. Customers may describe this as a momentary automatic transmission slipping feeling. The engine control modulecalibration has been revised and thecomputer should be updated with this newest software. See TSB 0079-15
