Interesting, I read on a post here that some spoke with a Fox engineer and he stated off the record that for the Tacoma Pro fox shocks that using a pre-load type spacer lift (like RevTeks) is the only he'd recommend.

So much misinformation... who knows whats true lol. My friend did this on his 2019 PRO, I refused on my 2020 Pro after talking to several vendors, members and friends. Who the hell knows though lol.

Just got off the phone with Revtek. He stated the measurements I provided were for a Tundra preload spacer. Some sort of packaging mix up on their end. He's sending the right ones out to me next day air.

Much of the argument against the pre-load/RevTek spacers stems from the shock failures from the basic shocks (like the stock TRD Offroad Bilsteins or Sport Hitachis) where the shock mount fails. So this is a true argument against preload spacers for low-end or medium-end shocks, however this is not the case for premium or high end shocks. If you look at the TRD Pro Fox shocks you can see that the shock mount is like 3x the size/thickness of the stock Bilstiens (see pic 1 & 2 below). The likelyhood of this type of failure happening on the Pro Fox shocks is near zero. Also if you look at coilovers in general, they all preload (or unload) with their adjustability....preloading is not a bad thing as most people seem to think.

The argument against using the top hat spacers (non-pre-load type) is that they completely change the suspension geometry (for the worse) and will either overextend or bottom out the shock. This is precisely the reason the Fox engineer stated against this for the TRD Pro Fox shocks. There doesn't seem to be any debate on this argument. See 3rd picture below...preload (bottom) vs strut extension (top).

Not happy with the 10 ply KO2s in 285/75/R16. It took my tranny a while to adjust but there's still a noticeable degradation in power. Changing the gear ratio can address I know but these heavy tires ruin the ride quality regardless, IMHO. I should have gone with 6 ply Nitto's. On a positive note, they look great but so what. I spend my time driving the truck not looking at it. It drives like a Fred Flintstone mobile trying to turn some heavy granite boulders at the end of each axle.

I'm planning to order a 2020 Off-Road soon and I'm wondering if I can run 33s on a stock Off-Road with no rubbing...I suspect not. I'm fine with doing a 2" lift in order to fit 33s, but I'm not doing ANY body cutting on my truck at all. So, can I run 33s n a 2020 Off-Road with NO rubbing? I'd be willing to do up to a 2" lift but nothing more than that.

Sick truck man. Is this the height with the Rextek kit on? If so, perfect stance imo :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    A few.
If you changed to different wheels with the correct backspacing or used wheel spacers with your stock wheels. Although 8" wide wheel is recommended with 285's.

I've decided to go with 275/70/R17 tires on the 4Runner matte black TRD Pro wheels and a 2.5 inch lift. This setup should work perfectly, without compromising much power, fuel economy and also improving off-road clearance a bit. It's only a 1.55 inch diameter increase over stock tires, so there definitely shouldn't be any issues with rubbing.

Has anyone had any issues with the TSS after installing this kit? And has anyone had their truck at the dealer for any reason after installation whether it be maintenance or whatever. Just wondering, because when I bought my PRO I asked multiple times if a lift (no matter what the height, and even if installed at the dealer), would void my warranty and I couldnt get a straight answer from anyone other than it can mess with the TSS. I have read some people had issues but they all seemed to be with 3inches or more. This seems to be a good kit to go with, especially with wanting to put on some 33's. I dont off road hard, mainly fire roads and an occasional trip to some actual trails. But so far this thread seems to be pretty favoring towards the revtek kit. Thanks in advance for any input.
