If you "don't make that much money" you shouldn't be buying a Pro. I'm just saying. Your argument just doesn't make sense and I feel like you're trying to justify your purchase to yourself more than us.

Yes but advising someone to pay cash for something that is $45K when you could finance that at 1 or 2% interest is not a good financial move.

I thought from the head title you were asking how.

No it appears you are advising how.

The thread title should be you you to can afford a pro with upgrades.

Good start. Line 4 is questionable. Where are your non retirement investments? (Real Estate, after tax savings). 401ks are only a small part of what you’ll need?
6 months rainy day fund is better for 9-12 as we head for the next market correction.
Reduce costs, Drive cheaper cars for another decade. Save 350 month for your next car and buy it when you need it, not want it. make real behavior habits...skip Starbucks (it sucks anyway) etc. pitch a $200 tent next to your truck. Keep off TW...

Being single with no kids actually makes it very realistic to afford a truck that almost costs the same as your yearly salary. Also got to keep in mind that everyone has different bills, debts and expenses in their life. When you have a good job, zero school debt, zero dependents to support, zero medical/legal bills and live with someone to cut all the bills in half..you really do end up with more money than you know what to do with it haha

Pfff. Responsibility is overrated. Spend it all, rack up debt, leave the funeral expenses to the living.

How about, who cares how anyone affords a vehicle? I could not give a shit whether or not someone saved up their pennies working 5 jobs to buy it or if someone's momma bought it for their 16th birthday. This a truck forum, not a fucking financial advising forum. Everyone is in different situations. If you live in the south, a nice house may only cost 250-300k whereas in many cities on the west coast, you couldn't even get a studio condo for that price. So people's budgets, jobs, needs are all different.

    OP: just ignore the haters.
