I wouldnt buy it with my money.

But everyone else seems to love buying well over market value with their money, so....do as you please I guess.

Pass. That's pretty high for a 14 year old vehicle with that mileage. Should be under KBB with mods, not over.

Def seems high especially for that mileage.

I'd be shooting for the $16k range at most on that vehicle. probably closer to $15k.

16-17 sounds right to me. Cars are just more expensive these days. It's the reality of things. I know I wouldnt let mine go for less than 16k and I have 193k miles.

i paid 17k for my 2009 with 180k while not the cheapest or the lowest of miles but in, my area 16-20k isnt rare asking prices for mostly stock rigs

Shop around, find a few others you like, if the 20k one is your fave, tell him you have 3 other candidates being sold for reasonable prices, then throw your best offer at him and see if he bites, if he doesn’t, walk away. Personally I wouldn’t consider paying a premium unless the truck was in exemplary shape, paint, interior, no rust, maintenance records …..

I’m not intending to pay $20k. That wasn’t my question.

What was your question then, if it wasn't about price?

    No, overpriced.

14 year old truck with 165k, I'd pay closer to 10k. Maybe less if it's not stock.

The people that are saying 10k have clearly lived under a rock for the last 5 years. Beat 2006 Tacoma's with 250k go for 10k.

Without seeing the truck, I would say around 15k, but it would have to been really clean. Also what does "minimal rust mean"?

Personally, I would find the cleanest stock, low milage one you can find for 20k. For 20k you could probably find a newer lower milage unit.

Not saying that's not what they are going for. The used car market is insanely inflated. And people are still buying like crazy--which explains why we have a huge auto loan bubble that will likely burst soon.

But regardless, if you read my post, I'm stating what I would buy it for. You might pay more, so might other people, but I wouldn't.

My question was “Should I jump on this … with trying to negotiate lower.” I’m sorry for the bluntness, but that was clearly stated in the post.
