I just installed new retrofits and plan to use the halos as DTRLS and Blinkers; however, current the blinkers hyperflash unless the old bulbs are plugged in. The problem is, I don't want the bulbs hanging around lighting up my engine bay and I don't want them in my headlights.

Is there a crafty way to delete or black out the bulb so it's plugged in, but not visible?

you need a load resistor for LED blinkers

Just install the grey plastic jumper block on the back of the fuseblock. The part number is 82671-30360. It's about $8 from the dealer. Then you can use the Diode Dynamics SmartTap CF18 Flasher. No more DTRL. No more hyperflash, and a cool flasher that does other cool stuff. The coolest thing is the nighttime illumination while you're walking to your house.

Load resistor. Or you can just tape the oem bulbs with electrical tape

Picked up a resistor yesterday but haven't wired it yet. Will see if that works. Won't electric tape just melt? That MFer already burned me once. Look - i'm not opposed to just spray painting the bulbs black...
