    Hi all,
Been lurking for a while waiting for the truck I have a deposit on to come in.
Any tips on Tacoma specific things I should check before leaving the dealer?
Was close to getting a VW GTI before a twist of fate and Dieselgate changed those plans, and they had major issues with suspension pucks being missed on predelivery inspection.
Any tips on specific things to watch out for?
So far double checking the tailgate key, floor mats and bed cleats.
What other issues have others ran into? Hoping to compile a list to help newbies like myself.

Just look it all over for things that could have been dealer caused really. The truck has warranty so anything on a manufacture level will get fixed. If you see some odd paint defect, dent etc then point it out. Just make sure it shiny and new and enjoy it!

Here is the list I emailed the dealer as I await delivery, he said they will check out all of the issues as they are interested in understanding more about the condition of the Tacos being delivered from the factory.

    I'm hoping they follow through...

As a general info-sharing exercise, here is a list of items that have been showing up on 2016 Tacos:

    1) glue on the hood has been separating (see attached photo)

    2) differential fluid levels have not been topped off from the factory

    3) auto transmission fluid not topped off from the factory (tow package models)

    4) moon roof initialization not being done properly

    5) alignment issues (see #6)

    6) wheels not properly balanced (see #5)

    7) leaf spring u-bolts not torqued properly

    8) zerks grease fittings are dry or insufficiently greased

    9) top of rear window molding channel not flush/bulges outward

Other issues - no root cause identified

    1) howl at around 40 mph - many open tickets, possibly due to problems with the door moldings near the A pillar

    2) the two vents at the back of the cab not properly sealed (very rare, but has happened on several vehicles)

    3) complete shut down of vehicle ECU (very rare, but has happened on several vehicles)

Bwah, you have a better chance of hitting power ball then having your dealer check any of that.

Due to security issues, my dealer always removes the spare tire when pickups and SUV's are delivered. They forgot to install my spare tire under the truck after purchase. I had to go back to get it.

I have an email confirming that all of these items will be checked as part of the delivery inspection. If anything goes wrong with an area they claim to have inspected, now there is an audit trail...

And if I do win the lottery this week, I really don't care since I wouldn't even take delivery. And no, I will not be sending you a post card either.
    :fingerscrossed:
