So, my new truck is supposed to arrive at the dealership within a few days. It was manufactured in Texas in late January and is "in freight". When my truck is ready and I go into the dealership, I plan on giving it a thorough inspection on the lot and then taking it for a long test drive before I sign any paperwork. What should I be looking for? Anything specific to:
    • fit and finish
    • handling
    • engine and transmission performance
    • controls, accessories, and their operation
    • fluids, lubricants, and fuel
    • other?
If there's a direct, on-point thread on TW, I couldn't find it with the search words I tried. If you know of a thread, please refer me to it. If someone has made a check-list of things to look for on initial inspection and a test drive, that would be great!

Are there any TSB's relevant to a vehicle manufactured in late January? Are there reasonable expectations for the dealership, one my wife and I have purchased 4 vehicles from (5 including this one)?

Looking to be as prepared as possible, so as to preempt a need to return to the dealership with issues / concerns I might have overlooked when I picked up my new truck.

    Thanks!

TSBs don't apply to your new truck. They're not work orders or recalls, they're just guidelines for repair if your truck exhibits certain issues the TSBs cover.

You won't get any TSBs done just because they exist. Your truck has to have a problem covered by them.

There is a thread on here somewhere about what to check on your pre purchase inspection, I think it even had a little checklist.

Yea OP, your best bet is to stay away from this site for maybe your first 1500 miles. Just to avoid any pseudo bias from members who have negative opinions/experiences.

My mistake about Texas. Don't know how that got into my head. Probably the same way so much as gotten out of my head.
