Dell has the WORST customer service in the world ! If you can deal with all the delays in shipping and the other BS they send your way then the Laptop itself isn't bad.

Well, i haven't had any issues with Dell's shipping. Got my most recent computer (2 weeks ago) 2 days ahead of the scheduled delivery date. I'm not a fan talking to "Bill" in India, but the times I've called, "Bill" was helpful.

Dell didn't come to your house. A local computer repair guy came to your house.

The call was initiated with Dell, the guy who came to the house was called by Dell (not us). So he's either a Dell licensed rep or a Dell regional repair guy, because he had to drive 80 miles. My brother was living within walking distance of Oregon State University, so it's not not like my brother was in the middle of nowhere.
In any case, they sent an intelligible human rather than us having to ship things to them and wait 8+ weeks.

Go with Sager. Last time I called I think the guy was from Colorado.

Absolutely agree with Lenovo Thinkpads if you are looking for a well built take punishment laptop. They are more expensive than Dells and HPs (of which I still have a few of each for my users) but the ROI from having less down time makes them more cost effective.

As an IT Manager, I am always purchasing laptop and PCs. I have converted most of my mobile workers to Lenova Thinkpads and they can't be happier over Dell and HP.

For personal use, I am a Toshiba fan and just last Sunday purchased a new Toshiba Netbook so I can take advantage of WiFi on the bus that I sometimes take to work. I love surfing porn with some prude sitting next to me.....

sony sucks. I have a sony and it's got so much other crap that sony puts on it that is very hard to remove. It slows down the computer a fair enough.. Shy aware from any computer made by sony when possible.

Cover King Seat Covers, WeatherTech Liners, PopNLock, storage bin locks, N-Fab Step bars, and G4 Elite Tonneau cover.
Call the help desk for both and whichever one has a native English speaker answer the phone, go with them. I won't buy anything that has the support outsourced to India or somewhere else.
