Ya think I might go for it. What I am wondering is if I would feel any kind a slight power increase. I know most say they do not but my question is since I live up in the mountains(6500-7000ft) if if would be more beneficial up here to get more air in the intake since the air is thin up here and I might actually feel a difference compared to most other users in lower elevations

 

You might, but I'd be skeptical. If you have access to a dyno, test it and report back on the high altitude effects of the mod

Hit up a drag strip! Do 3 runs without the plate, 3 with. Average them and see. Then you also get to have some fun. Haha

 

Haha, If only there was a drag strip where I live. nearest one is about 1.5hrs away and that's down the mountain at about 1500ft.

It's okay, I have a 4cyl so the power gain to effort ratio (0hp::0fucks) wasn't good enough for me to bother. Which CAI you have, is it one of the shielded ones?

 

Sliding back on topic, @Delta00 why u no burn sliders on?

I want to know what your planning for a rear bumper, I'm in the early drawing stages of making one as well.

That's why I've left my intake alone, becomes hard to find decent filters too. Afe is the only company I know of that makes a quality pod filter, the rest are oily or let in everything but boulders. Putting CAI intake pipe on a stock air box would be the most I'd change because it allows you to remove the intake baffles and silencer heimholz resonators. That'll get you the sound and quality filtration.

 

Welder is still being shipped to me then they should go on. I'm planning on replicating the one @Digiratus has with some things different. I think its the best looking plate bumper out there.

 

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah its a good looking bumper, all the little details for the foldout table and little lock to hold the gate open are great too. It's a sight to behold in person.

I'm looking to do similar, but I want to tuck it up even higher and rather than cover the bedsides to the tire well I'd just chop em at the bottom of the tail light and have the plate wrap around higher up and keep it as out of the way as possible. Basically I'd want no part of it more than ~2" below the frame.

 

Nice, yeah I will be putting my own spin on it but I haven't put much time into thinking about it. I'll only e able to work on it during the summer because that's when I'll only have free time to take on a large project.

When does summer begin for you? I've got access to a good welder, but I'm hoping to acquire a plasma cutter rather than do the whole thing with grinders and death wheels. But if I have to I will, I'm about two months away from being able to start on one.
