Why are you so angry that you continually shoot the bird at people?

Doesn’t the 4Runner have the exact same system with discs?

The fact that you’re having “a swarm of issues” doesn’t mean it’s an inherently bad design or that disks would be better. There are tens of thousands of these things on and off the roads with no problems whatsoever.

It makes sense to have disk brakes up front where most of the braking happens, due to the superiority of the braking performance (stopping and cooling), even though expensive components like the calipers are exposed. it makes sense to have the drums on the rear where they offer superior protection for components from the mud and gravel and where brake cooling is not as critical.

I heard a Toyota rep say that Tacoma’s still have drums in back because they don’t get jacked up in sandy off-road conditions like discs do. Sand in the calipers, etc.

Last time I checked Toyota mostly does its own thing and other manufacturers tend to follow. Oh and my '91 Dodge (not Ram or FCA) 12valve Cummins has rear drums as well.

I'm with you. Something about that green that is NOT Army green. I was interested when I heard there was going to be an Army Green option, but was disappointed when I saw it. It's more of a Forest Green. If they had gone with the real Army Green or even the old Land Rover Safari Green, it would have been a killer package..
