Actually I just read a motortrend article that claimed a 0 to 60 time of 6.8 which makes the new truck just a hair faster than the outgoing 4.0 truck. So who knows. Butt dyno's have never been very accurate.

Great post, my 2016 trd sport 6cyl 4x4 longbed is superior to all of my older taco's.
My first one was a 1996 reg. cab 4x4. Then I got a couple of pre runners that were great. Didn't do any mod's. Purchased a 2010 trd 4x4 longbed and loved it. Lifted with a toy tec add a leaf and front spacer.
Good truck...I could go on and on, the 2016 taco is the best taco yet!!! Just my opinion.

    Congrats

I see mostly 6MT 4x4 on the OR. Don't see them much on the sport

Apparently these trucks don't like water.

I was on pismo Beach, got the tail end of a wave while pulling someone and the truck died for 4 hrs. It fixed itself and took it home, went to carwash, and now it's completley dead. Dealer has had it for a week with specialists and the engineering team and no luck...

Yes, it has to be one of the best , if not the best handling car on the planet!! It really feels like it has a soul, i has good days and bad days, yes i can control that with my foot, but sometimes the car gets angry, and look out!! Yes, i have driven and owned alot of high end cars in my time, save your time and money and go right to the Porsche 911-GT3, or any Porsche for that matter. You wont be disappointed!!

I'm currently in an E90 M3 6 speed and love it; it's my 2nd M3 (I owned a 2001 previously). I keep saying that my next performance vehicle is going to be a P-car, and have been considering the 997.2 Carrera S with a stick. Just gotta wait for them to come down in price.

This thread help me delay a new purchase. I'll keep my 012 Tacoma a bit longer. One of my father's sayings was "never buy the first year of a new car" wait for the bugs to be worked out.

A little update with my review on the 2016 Tacoma. My opinion still hasn't changed much, except for maybe I do like and enjoy the interior and options even more than before. I've been driving this truck for a couple weeks now and had a great weekend with it in Texas at the Jamboree. The engine still just isn't what it should be IMO. Granted I'm running 35's on it with currently no re-gear available.

I did go back and finish our custom rack for the bed, but with deadlines and time re-straights I'm not 100% happy with it yet.

We did add more baja design lights to the truck and the S-pod system. With the S-pod option it makes adding multiple lights so much easier, can't say enough good stuff about that system.

I really like the truck over all, I just wish the engine was a step forward not backward. Hopefully someone comes out with a supercharger for it soon.

35" tires do not fit but after this landing they do fit a little better:)

A full front tubing of the inner fenders is in it's future. I'm not a fan of lifting it any higher, I like the low CG of the truck and relative MPG savings by staying lower. We just need to clearance out the inner fenders to match up to the "ego tire" size:)

Must say that watching you drive that course was a highlight of the Jamboree in my opinion! Great looking truck!

This is a accurate report on 0-60 time 6.8, many Auto Mags have similar times I've read. I had my TRD DCLB Sport tested 0-60 by a friend who test all types of vehicles for "speed performance." I wanted to see for myself. I was reading many folks who said 3rd Gen was a speed "dog." This is my 3rd TRD and this is the fastest no doubt. My friend ran my 2016 5 times 0-60 with average time of 6.6 it really does move down the road...

I like that bumper a lot!

Quick question though... why is this a sticky?

I don't mean to be rude to you, but this forum is packed with stickies. Terrible to navigate. That's not your fault so much as it's the moderation here. I get the OP pays money as a vendor, but this thread is basically just about his truck and some porsche. If that's the standard, how much do I pay for my truck-build to be stickied at the top?

This is a great write up and mostly along the lines of what I've found. Maybe I should write up a review in my build thread as well as I really wanted to hate this truck when it came out but I've found my self loving it so far.
