So I was rear ended a month ago by a lady on her cell phone. My truck has been in the body shop for 3 1/2 weeks. The shop called me today, they said it was done and I can come take a look at it. They replaced the driver side bed panel. Right when I got there, I started looking around at the truck. I'm very detail oriented, and one of the first thing I noticed was a dimple right in front of the gas lid. I pointed it out. The shop manager said it was a new panel, it may be part of the stamping defect from Toyota.

The shop manager said they'll try to fix it tomorrow. I told him to fix it or have Toyota replace the panel. So tomorrow if I can still notice the dent, I'm not paying them and taking the truck back until it gets straighten out.

Has anybody else had this happen to them? Sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting. I'm just frustrated.

Here are a couple pics. A lot of people know that a small dimple is hard to pick up with a camera. I could pick this one up pretty easily, so to me it's significant. Also because my truck is not even a year old and has no other flaws on it.

Dent is near top left corner of gas tank lid.

I can see it in the second pic best. I would take it back as well, but only if it really bothers you...

Also the repair bill is close to $10,000 when all is said and done, I was hoping for it to be mint as when I had it before.

Make them fix it. if the panel was damaged they shouldn't of accepted it. i used to work for a honda dealership and if the panel was damaged we wouldn't even give it to the body shop. We had to inspect it before it left the dealership. MAKE THEM FIX IT

I saw it in the first set of pictures. "Stamping Defect" my ass. i wouldnt pay a body shop that delivered something like that. You are 100% in the right to make them fix it.

I don't think you're being picky. I wouldn't be happy with that either.

Ha I think I see it. I get what you're saying, and if you want perfect than that's what you should get.

Personally, I wouldn't care. I like to keep my truck rough...it gets used a LOT as a work truck so lotta scuffs come from that.
