I would call a few body shops and get quotes, thats the only way you're going to know how much it costs to repair.

If the paint is not damaged, go first to a paint less dent repair place before a body shop. There is good access behind that panel to push the dent out.

I would argue this is a perfect candidate for a high clearance cut…. Gets rid of most the mess.. and will kill the next person who hits you.

You could always buy a bed-side from the junkyard.

If it was mine I’d pull the panel off and take it to a pant less dent repair place. Very easy to remove the panel. Second option would be to check Craigslist, they actually show up once in awhile.

I didn’t have a dent like that but a hole and I got a quote to repaire the hole and a quote to replace the box side. $2256 to repair the hole, that included new fender, plastic bed rail, decal and paint. $2974 to replace the box side including all other parts mentioned. The bed side was about $730 part I believe they said.IMG_9738.jpg

To fix right , stop playing games and get a new panel , they will need to paint and put a new decal on .
That’s the only way . Paint less dent repair could get it good but it will never be 100 percent if that’s what you want

I am paying for this myself. Not using insurance. I would like the work done so that it looks good and doesn’t deteriorate in a few years.

I had a very similar repair a few months ago where a scraped the gate to my studio and missed the bumper from crunched the side rear panel to the back of the fender flare. Estimate from the body shop in Los Angeles was just under $4000 but in the final bill to the insurance company they managed to pad another grand into the repair, so I'm going to say somewhere in the $4-5000 range. And that whole side of the bed unbolts so no welding required.

Order a new panel and put on yourself not that hard . It bolts on .Leave off the fender flare and mud guard have it painted . You could even have it pained before you put it on . It’s not very hard to put on. You will need some new clips for the flare and the top of the bed.

I got 4 quotes today. The dealer where I bought the truck quoted just over $2,100 to replace the whole panel and paint, and replace decals and chip guard tape. Other quotes were about the same. However the wait list was as far out as December. Dealer can start in a few weeks. Very happy with quote!!

Luckily, the bedside is bolted on and can be easily replaced for about $700 parts cost. Labor plus painting will bring to maybe $2000 non expert guess. I had the whole side of my truck replaced for $7000 if I remember correctly.
