Deposit on 2023 TRD

I haven't signed a Purchase Agreement yet. The contract can't be signed until the truck arrives at the dealership in two weeks. The market adjustment will be added. However, I found another Toyota dealership with no market adjustment on Tacomas that they have in stock, plus a 5000 dollar discount if you finance with Toyota. One drawback, the one I'm waiting for, is a super sharp looking TRD and I'd hate to lose my deposit.

 

The deposit should be 100% refundable

 

$500 or $5,000 discount?

 

There's no such thing as a 5k discount for financing with Toyota. They are making that 5k up somehow.

And never pay a market adjustment.

PC speak for price fixing. Personally, I hear or see that and I'm running.

 

I think maybe if he finances with Toyota, the $5k market adjustment is waived.
That's how I understand it anyway.

I would have never agreed to that. Regardless of how super sharp it is.

$5k discount? Color me unbelieving.

Why on earth would you lose your deposit? Did you agree to provide a non refundable one?

I have a bridge I'd like to offer at a discount, today and today only. You can Zelle me a non refundable deposit.

 

That wouldn't make sense though. Market adjustments go right to the dealer as profit. The kickback from Toyota for using their finance is nowhere near 5k.

 

I'm not sure how it all works, that's what the salesman told me though. I avoided market adjustment fee via military service. I was grateful.

 

My 23 I just bought had a 2k market adjustment. I told them I wouldn't even talk numbers on the truck unless that was taken off. They agreed but probably only because it was the second to last day of the month.

 

Doesn't really matter, as soon as it rolls off the delivery truck somebody else will walk up and offer more and they'll sell it to that guy

 

It's time to learn. Ask questions. Over and over and over. Until you fully understand. And see the final number in writing.

If his lips moved high odds say he was lying. Or obfuscating at a minimum.

Its great to avoid that fee, personally I'd travel to wherever I needed to for the best value.

 

Not sure about where the 5k$ comes from but… if you have the cash or need payment plan. Finance where they want you to and make sure there is no prepayment and pay it off. Worst cost one month payment and you saved $5k

 

This is what the dealership emailed me.

We currently do not have any market adjustment on our Tacomas. We do have our dealer installed options of $3.294. We do have a $5,000 discount on our in stock Tacomas when financing with Toyota.

 

May I ask what state this is in?

And do you really want $3,294 in fluff?

 

Ask for a breakdown. Something is off.

 

Florida, and I never get all the fluff. Just what I think I will actually use.
