No I wouldn't have tipped, but the damage would've been WAY worse. I should've stayed in the rut, I would've had enough clearance...

I actually scrapped my door and my fenders a bit in the rut, but it's just a small scratch. No denting.

Nope. It wasn't really necessary, but it could've helped I suppose...

The mud was about this thick:

So yeah once it grabbed you you just had to let it take you wherever it wanted!!

The rear light is on order and should be here tomorrow!!!

Well to keep things cheap, they are just going to straighten out the bumper as best as possible so I can fit the new tail light in. Then I'm going to go from there. Total cost so far: $200.43.

I'll probably get an aftermarket bumper though depending on the cost of one from the stealership.

That'll be some time off though. As long as the tail light is in, I'll be good. At least for now. :p

The bedside is slightly bent at the bottom near the exhaust pipe, but there is visually no damage from the outside. You can just tell that it doesn't flow right though. The mounts are just bent behind the bumper, so hopefully that can also be straightened out without further work. The paint also needs a bit of touching up where the mounts are bent.

Next time air down to 12psi and let me know how you do. ;)
You wont lose a bead unless your sliding sideways over rocks.

Does that 200 include the light?

yea man what happened to your spotters. Before any rut like that i wouldve 1. Got out of my truck and picked my lines ahead of time. 2. Taken it slow. 3. Had someone spot my in case. 4. Thrown a rock and JD's truck

I tried to hit JD's truck, but the rock fell short.

I picked a line, but the mud said otherwise.

But yeah, I just started going. I expected someone to start telling me where to turn my wheels but everyone was just kind of standing there watching.

Yea Video tells the tale. "Hahah dereks gonna die in a mud pit. Hahaha" LOL. Take it a little slower next time man. You Turned left and sunk your front passenger tire in and thats what caused you to spin out. Shouldve slowly straddled the rut the entire length or put one side of your truck into the rut from the beginning instead of falling into it. O well, live and learn. At least you got the balls to do it.

Like I said, the mud said otherwise.

I was sliding the whole way into the rut, I couldn't do anything! I had to keep it fast otherwise by bedside would've wound up where my bumper was. That would've been waaaaay worse.

Plus I was leading so that made me the dedicated guinea pig.

    x2.

Most people wouldnt have even tried.

Quick round of applause for Manny everyone. He tries too. He tries really hard. He tries to be like me. He tries to make his truck like my truck. He always tries. The thing is....he never succeeds at anything. What a poor shame. Keep at it buddy.

LOL. Yea that mud looked pretty slimy. Not the kinda mud that slows you down, its the kind that keeps you sliding with your momentum.

The mud was way worse than what the Video shows. The rest of the trucks that went down had the rut underneath them. I give it up to D for trying and being the first one. I didn't see what happened but I turned around and called it a day myself. I am not about risking damage on my truck on a day I was not even suppose to be out there. So was sure fun though. And I need new tires before attempting the mud again.
