Are you guys leaving your light connections attached or in doing them every time you close up the tent? It looks like there’s enough room where there won’t be tension on the wires but was unsure.

Thinking about heading there this weekend. Did they fix the toilets yet? Last year they were all destroyed from too much snow. Crowded?

Getting this thing loaded solo is going to be a challenge. Got a lift headed my way.

    Questions:
    1. What do you all do with the black lines? Assume they are used to secure the tent to the truck when setup?
    2. Do you secure/lock the ladder down when setup? Read an interesting story from a RTT owner on the ladder and wind. Wind raised up the ladder and closed the tent!
    3. OCD moment...so unloading last week with my son we scuffed up the trim along the rear of the tent. Rubber is frayed in some spots. It looks like regular "door trim" I can get an an automotive store. Thoughts? It's going to drive me crazy to be quite honest.
    4. Bolts....did any of you receive the 2 3/4 bolts from DA yet? I have not been able to piece together a good set of carriage bolts from going to Lowes, Ace and Home Depot. I have a mixture of 3 1/2" and up to 4 1/2". OCD no likey, at all. And the carriage bolts are not as beefy as the one supplied by DA.
All that said, mother nature is throwing us a cold front mid week next week. Temps in the 60s during day and upper 40s/low 50s at night. Break in time for the tent will come earlier than expected!! 92 degrees last night at 9pm so we're looking forward to a cool down.

    1) before you close the tent up all the way throw the black lines in and then shut the tent
    2) I’ve never secured the ladder and never had any issues :notsure:
    3) it’s regular door trim. It can be replaced. I was thinking about replacing mine with one that had a lip on it to protect the bottom a bit more.
    4) :notsure: lol nothing here yet. I’m sure they’ll get there anytime.

it’s not a super heavy tent. My wife and I loaded it on my truck together.

Can always count on you for updates. Thanks man. I'll check the vid out shortly. My son and I have the shortitis genetics and he's only 10. Unloading last weekend was a bit comical so I've got a simple lift on the way to help us out. Temp solution though. Slab being poured in garage and will be looking for permanent mounting/dismounting solution at a later date. And that Toyota blue you have....damn me likey. I'm a gray guy but that blue is an eye catcher and was my first plan until I found the gray I couldn't pass up. The blue is very rare in my part of the world.

    1) I should have been clearer. How about when tent is setup? I'll just toss them under the rack to keep them from flapping in the wind.
    2) Yep I read that on here. Believe they got caught in a storm and ladder closed them up!! No worries. I'll probably tie mine down to one of our loaded down coolers or storage container....or tire/rim.
    3) Cool. I'll get mine replaced too. You find a good source with the lip, please reply back here.
    4) Being in the boonies my selections are limited! What I have is working but different lengths is driving me batty.

Yep still closed. It was actually my first time there so I don't have a baseline but it didnt seem very crowded at all. e were able to snag a campsite lakefront. There are more campsites further up the trail I assume?

1.i think this as already been answered. They straps are used for assistance in closing the shell. I toss them in before closing and leave them be when the tent is up.

    2. I lock all of the ladder joints when I unfold the tent, then Collapse the top steps in order to even out the ladder. Make sure the bottom step is fully extended, as that step collapses the other locks.

    3. think of the frayed rubber as battle marks. But to each their own. Do what you gotta do.

    4. No bolts as of yet.

if you’re looking for a way to install your tent by yourself, check out this YT link. https://youtu.be/D1jeswOb32A

I hope you get to enjoy your tent soon. I might go out during he Labor Day weekend. It if I don’t go this week, I will for sure the following,

Any chance you could take some pics of the trim? I’m also quite OCD and want to know what I’m getting myself into.

The only thing stopping me from getting the ikamper at this point is the built in lights the warrior has which seems pretty handy.

Thanks man. We may be headed to a local river weekend of Sept 11 for a weekend of tent testing and fishing. Hope you get out Labor day weekend too!

I'll get you a few pics by noon today. Don't think you'd be disappointed going with DA...plus the savings is a huge bonus too.

It’s just regular door trim. I think the iKamper has the same stuff. Just x2 the price.

Sounds good. Hopefully they actually show up by October. Heading on a national parks trip first week of November. Would love to have a tent on my truck by then.

Where ya headed? We're planning a New Mexico trip next summer. Maybe White sands for a day and then into Lincoln Natl forest. I could always use input if you folks have some.

Edit: I'd get you a pic of the trim but it's pouring rain right now.
This is where I'd like to be right now.

Planning on heading out to Utah to do the white rim trail in canyonlands. My buddy is planning the trip so don’t know where we’re stopping exactly.

here you go....and NOTE - this scuffing is due to my error, not a fault of the tent.
