I understand the shipping and receiving/factory production stuff enough to know shit happens. As a company, I think it’s important be able work out the when shit happens moments. I don’t know the details of the original agreement, but when I hear of a customer being charged 500 bucks for cancelling an order when the seller was not able to provide said service at expected time, that’s not a company dealing with the shit happens moment. These are unprecedented times, for every one. As a potential purchase is in my future, I’m glad to read it looks like DA is trying to work it out.
You have been key in getting shit squared for this company, and using a forum has helped get them sales. Those sales come with the public forum to discuss the issue. We are also not talking a week difference in the shipping, from what I understand, so to compare the two is the apples/oranges thing.

again, good on you for keeping shit moving in the right direction for the forum community members and DA.

if those containers are coming through Long Beach it’s gonna be a while before they get their hands on them. We are seeing 7-12 days before they are even available to the truckers for a port appointment or moving out on the rail to an inland rail ramp.

It’s a complete shit show on the west coast right now. There are 60ish vessels at anchor outside of Long Beach right now waiting their turn to berth. There is so much volume it’s like trying to drink through a fire hose.

@SearArtist was my ace in the hole to explain how the international shipping is a shit show and that the dates getting push back isn't anything DA can control. Its outstanding that the broker is even able to give pretty firm dates after its been pushed back.

Well, whoever they are using to import the containers is full of shit if they are guaranteeing ANYTHING. It’s like the wild Wild West right now for international shipping.

Delays upon delays = pissed off customers

Honestly, not much anyone can do to expedite stuff unless you are paying stupid premiums to use Matson or APL EXX services.

BTW rates right now are 3x higher than they were last year. It should be no surprise that the cost of goods will be rising considerably if they haven’t already. Late 2019 the average cost to ship a 40FT container from China base ports to the west coast was ~$1500-1700. Rates are just shy of $4500 this month for the same trade lane. Trucking rates from outbound CA are also stupid. We have a customer who booked a team truck from Los Angeles to Miami FL and it cost them $13k. Three years ago that same run would have cost $5k.

Ok, now I’m done unless someone has specific questions, in which I’d be glad to answer.

I saw this and thought I was ordering today, but after seeing all the tents marked down 200 bucks, I had to reread the add. I will say its frustrating to see the 3k tent marked down 200 bucks, the same as the cheaper one. Any other deals in the making or help you can get me? I am not in a hurry, hope to have something by like April, but June will be the must have time frame.

Just go ahead and get one @Spare Parts :D I've been impressed by this tent and the folks at DA. Anybody try the cold weather insert for the warrior? Think that may be my next purchase. It was damn cold last week.

    Follow up.
I’m not sure what other companies are doing deals but the $200 dollars off is more than the promo discount codes DA brand ambassador dudes can offer.

I will say that the product is worth the money. And the customer service is worth it as well.

Just wanted to update you guys on what was going on. Desert Armor and I were able to come to an agreement and I really appreciate the fact that they were willing to work with me. I was a little stressed out trying to plan our first 2 week camping trip and glad everything worked out. Looking forward to doing business with them in the future.

I’m not say 200 off isn’t good, but if I get the 1700 buck tent, I save 200 bucks or if I go for the 3300 dollar tent I get 200 bucks off. Not a lot of incentive to jump right now.
But the add got me to there site, I just missed the fine print of up to 30% off. I had credit card in hand ready to order the tank until I realized it wasn’t 30 percent off, in fact it’s just under 6%, where as if I get the grunt it’s about 12% off. I think the coolers and tire deflator are about the only things on their web site that’s close to 30% off. That being said, a sale is always appreciated.

ive been thinking about this too as it’s starting to get cold. I’ve been fishing for salmon and it’s been a very rough season. About 10 trips on the river and only 1 salmon caught. I need to go back to bass fishing. Lol.

There are some insulated liners coming in on this shipment. I suggested they stock up... so hopefully they have a few
