No info from broker on boat


I wish I could reach out to them directly but that’s not part of my scope of work with DA unfortunately. All I know is that I thank y’all for your patience and can’t wait till this stuff is here because DA will have US inventory.

If I actually think about it it's gonna annoy the shit out of me especially when previous emails made it sound like the ship is just waiting to dock but it's obvious it's nowhere near the port. It is what it is I guess. It's not unique to DA unfortunately. I went into this expecting to wait longer than I was told.

 

Don’t dare to make any plans at this point. Glad they are keeping us informed, feeling like shit wasn’t very clear a few weeks ago when I thought there was a chance I’d get some camping in this coming week, now not sure if I dare to push for a Memorial Day weekend adventure. Definitely not helping my buyers remorse feelings with that much invested with out any enjoyment for so long.

 

So, if I were to order tomorrow, what’s the eta on a Tank or a Warrior. Planning a baller air compressor and pup ladder as well. TIA.

I got the email and info just like you at the same time. Pretty frustrating. Considering what I was told before. Sorry y’all for giving out misleading information. No one to blame but me. I’m truly hoping that this shipment gets here sooner than what was sent out today and those who ordered can get and enjoy their tents.

 

Warrior will be 3-4 weeks.
Tank won’t be for a few months.
EZ air just got into stock.
Beasts not in stock yet.
Pup ladders getting made.

 

Yeah the wait time can be a painstaking. If anyone is interested, I’m possibly looking to sell my warrior xl and a brand new annex room. I got this tent less than 6 months ago. Only used tent twice. PM if interested, you won’t have to wait.

Has anyone mounted solar to their Warrior?
That was my thought for the Tank.
Possibly 3M a film to the Warrior?

 

I have a few questions, and observations.

Question 1: Does anyone have any reviews and pictures to date, over time, of any version of the Tank or Tank XL?
Question 2: Does anyone have any real life experience and can comment on shipping, packing, and delivery of any Desert Armor items related to the Tank/XL?

Observation: The realization here for many, is that shipping and delivery was never truthful.

So, the question here within this observation is as to "intent", of which I only see 2 paths:

Did DA intentionally be polite, knowing full well that they couldn't meet their posted (and often changed) delivery times, in a legally upstanding fashion, even after taking full payment of said goods value, across state lines?
Or...
Did DA have no knowledge of the orders they placed, or the business relationship they must have with the factory, or the shipping brokers, such that they have no visibility of any item white badged as DA?

Either intent is dis/proven, or, ignorance of business relationships is the case. Even the latter is just as bad, as that calls into question support, and warranty, and product replacement in a timely manner.

 

At some point it was mentioned that it took an extra month to ship as there was no open container. This didn’t come out recently, and I feel that information wasn’t shared up front. It’s a tough place to be as a company, no one wants to tell folks who you have already made money on that they need to wait longer to get their order. Clearly, some things are out of DA’s control, but I hope this doesn’t effect the long term customer service, and the jury is still out on who wears the mud on this crap timeline. Desert Armor is the one that needs to make sure folks have more to say than, shipping took a few extra months.

So I am not a paid employee of DA.
I own a tent, warrior XL, and said I’d help here on the forums.
My warrior is still in great shape and I’ve used my plenty. Had it for 7 months now. There was an initial issue from the shipping company and that was handled, but it was not DA’s fault. Otherwise, no issues to date. And if anyone has had any issues it’s been taken care of by DA.

Initially shipping was a shit show. On the US side. UPS really jacked up the boxes. I got with DA and got them to surround the boxes with wood and since then there hasn’t been any real damage issues from shipping.

DA adds 3-4 weeks to lead time to what they get told initially when the order is going to get delivered. A lot of times the broker keeps their cards close to their chest. And the DA folks don’t always get the info unless they specifically ask the questions. As far as warranty goes at the warehouse in Phoenix there are spare parts and supplies for any warranty claims that need to be full filled. I had a warranty claim and it was corrected with no issues or cost to me.

This is the second time this has happened and it’s been so frustrating being around for both events. International shipping is such a crap show right now. The tents are made. They’re on the way. And they’re better than the one I own. I’m ready for this shipment to get here.

 

Customer service long term won’t be an issue. I like that their family owned and family backed. They have a few businesses and there is no plan for closing shop in the planned or unplanned future. They’re trying to keep everyone in the loop and be as transparent as they can.

 

This deal still available?

I see there are two different versions of this tent, but the website doesn’t allow me to choose. Which one is the one that’s available for purchase? Thanks!

The other version that “lifted” was not really a good option for people over 5’6” so that’s on hold currently.

The deal has changed because now you can get a free insulated liner!
