Looking good. What plans do you have to replace the cross member?

    Make a new one???

I’m going to put something temporary back there for the mean time and change it later for a future project. Probably do something super simple and relatively easy to remove.

Copy the archive crossbar, it's simple and would be a good temp setup

That’s what I was leaning towards. I don’t have time to continue this project so something easily removed in the future would be best.

I was only questioning the rigidity of not having a frame cross member in that location but the hanger location is only 6” or so lower.

    To send it?

    You want to do everything.

"I want to go on the big boy trails."- Has no armor/locker

"I want to go fast."- Has a truck running on 3 cylinders and bad LBJs.

You provide pizza and beer and I know of at least 6 trucks that will be ready to help. I don’t think yours being inop will be the end of the world.

I need to install my archive hangers....but i dont want to tackle that. Ugh.

Why cut out the factory piece? Whatever you put in, I'd put in some triangulation, your back end will get awful twisty with just a single crossbar I'd imagine.

I've had good and bad experience with the hanger install. Last time actually went pretty well and did not require nearly as much effort. Mostly due to having a plasma cutter available.

Two things really. The factory cross member is pretty sad as far as supports go. Its thin sheet metal but it's better than nothing. For the amount of work and time required to successfully box the frame, I'm going to take a little extra time and make a better cross support.

Secondly, I have future plans that will require me to remove the factory cross member anyway and with the way the frame boxing plates fit so tightly, I didn't want to try and remove the cross member after welding everything together. This kit is snug and is actually cut to work with the factory cross member, which would be more difficult to deal with later.

Just got a call from ECGS.

Locker is complete and on its way back to me! :yay: Possibly have it in this weekend in time for our upcoming trip.

Rear shocks will also be done today or tomorrow. :taco: Fresh new coating, rebuild, and another valving revision.

Shocks are back on the truck.

New color scheme and cerakote finish since I rubbed the clear coat off my passenger side when running my spare tire. 75B9FC5A-2724-4F97-B124-E463E46F8121.jpg
