I don't think this exists and have not found anything like it yet. I used to have a snugtop super sport with pop rear windows and it was okay for the shell. I know I have seen pop out windows in other cars and even some trucks. I really wish my access cab rear windows would pop. Has anyone else thought they would like this? I know having a one off custom setup would cost way too much but if it were produced by a manufacturer it might be a viable option.

I would rather have this as opposed to the rear sliding window, and having them powered would be awesome, but that would be really hard to do, as it would be great to just hit a button and have either one or both pop open

I agree but simply a latch would be perfect. I can reach my rear slider from the driver seat so I could also reach these.

My last access cab style truck had pop out rear side windows and solid back window. Pretty useless IMO, much prefer the sliding rear window in the access cab.

I like these, it would help with airflow in the cab. Opening the rear back glass window just seems to create a vortex, this might not create such a stir. I wondered why toyota didnt have this window vent. Heck, my relatives f150 access cab window rolls all the way down!

I'd also like to see this option for a pop out window in the back of the access cab. Mostly for the big dog who rides on the carpeted shelf back there. Utility package so solid back window. He's always trying to nose between the seat and the door to get a good sniff of the open door windows.

I have been hoping for something like this. It is silly that they don't open at all.

Better security with fixed glass, the quarter window is easy to compromise. With the suicide door the glass takes a lot more abuse as well. Just my 2 cents.
Edit, I do miss my 1st gen quarter windows.

I have pop-out rear windows on my 2000 Ford Ranger, and to tell you the truth, I hardly ever use them. The only time would be when someone is sitting in the tiny jump seats.

The Tacoma has such a nice climate / AC system, that I rarely open even the regular front windows.

Had my access cab since March of 17 and have only opened the rear sliding window once so side opening windows back windows would be a no for me.

I rarely use A/C and enjoy the hell out of the slider. Haha!

Maybe look at this idea first.

    http://www.fjfreedomwindows.com/index.html

I had a 2016 AC sport and looked at modifying this kit to work. Pricey just to get hinges, latches, and a seal that would have to be modified. But it could work if you made your own tinted plexi windows to fit like they have in the kit. Because it is really hard to drill or cut the stock glass without shattering it.

With the FJ market being pretty limited, those folks might be the right peeps to partner with.

They may have a slightly larger market over here...

Looks like the “hard” part is done (concept and prototype), though it is on an FJ. Just need to get the glass the correct size and see if you could wire the dual cab window controls in.
