Howdy everybody! I've been tasked with designing new rock sliders for the '05+ Taco. I happen to also own a '10 Taco and I'm pretty excited about getting paid to design stuff for my truck. I'll be using 1-3/4" .120 DOM, and integrating 3/16 sheet metal into the design as well for a slider/step hybrid.

What features would you like to see that others just aren't doing? Feel free to throw out some ideas/sketches. I'd love to pick your collective brains and come up with a unique design!

Double cab short bed-steepest upsweep you can get and a good kickout, all round tubing, no drill-bolt on. I'd buy a set.

Probably not going to happen, as there just isn't as much demand. It'll likely be Access + DCSB as one set, and DCLB as a second set.

I'd rather see flat sheet metal on the underside of the frame. UHMW can snag and rip off. It's rather expensive as well.

I'll do my best to have them be bolt-on, but judging by the frame, it's going to be pretty difficult to ensure full strength of the bar with those few wonky factory holes. Maybe I'll provide holes for optional drilling.

    Keep the ideas coming!

I really think you should get a regular cab too. I own an access so no bias.

There is no one that makes what these guys want and if you can design one for them you will capture their whole market. You might sell more reg cabs since there is more competition serving the other cab sizes.

Personally I have the same idea about the step slider hybrid. With either heavy duty mesh or a cool stamped sheet metal like a raptor grill probably larger holes filling in the gaps. That would be cool to me.

I am almost done doing this. Steel came in yesterday from laser house and I formed it on the press brake. Had a few minor adjustments to make and ordered the final prototype steel this morning. Hoping to have final product in a week or two.

yeah very curious about this... my 5' girlfriend would only let me buy some if they were able to help her get in the truck easier. so yeah whatever was in your head about steps, I'd like to see. obviously something that doesn't take away from the sliding functionality

    hope OP isn't awol
