I hope this is the last time I flood this detailing section with stupid questions but Here we go:

I'm thinking about buying a Land Cruiser "4wd" badge and putting it on my FJ but the badge is chrome and red and beige in color. I dont mind the red and beige, but the chrome needs to gtfo and let some black in. So, I want to paint the chrome letters "Wheel Drive" and the chrome trim around this badge:

Anybody got any ideas on how I can do this without messing up the badge? I dont wanna blow $30 on a badge and it comes out like shit. The only thing I can think of is taping off the other parts but this seems wayyy too hard.

Taping out the background would be hard. Hate to say it... but maybe paint it by hand with a brush? Otherwise I don't see how to get that done.

I say tape off the whole badge, then take an exacto to it to cut out the raised parts. Then spray and pray :D

Or you can go super ghetto - put some paint in a flat pan and lay the emblem face down on it. Just like a stamp! (please don't try this on your $30 emblem :p)
