I have a base Tacoma meaning the black (non-clear coated) molded bumpers, mirrors, door handles, etc....

In the past I waxed my truck and got some wax swirls on these black parts. The wax swirls have stayed there through numerous washings. How can I get rid of the wax swirls on the black plastic bumpers, mirrors, and door handles?

    Thanks

Do you mean that the wax you used caused the black parts to turn white or ashy? This is often attributed to using a "cleaner wax" rather than a pure Carnauba wax or a synthetic wax.

Anyway, you'll have to work at it for a while but a tooth brush and some diluted degreaser (simple green, purple power, etc) should work. Since the black plastic parts are textured, it may be difficult to get 100% of the wax out.

Yes, the door handles and a few spots on the bumper are kind of greyish looking. When I armor all these parts they look black, but as soon as the armor all is washed off by rain, they are grey again.

In the future mask them off before waxing. It only takes a minute. When I do the super detail weekend I do all my cars (3), an enclosed trailer, a 20' boat, a camper, and my lawn tractor. Yes it sucks, but for what I paid for this stuff, it has to last! Masking tape allows me to run the buffers worry free from slinging crap everywhere. Fwiw, colonites 845 insulator wax is a great friend to me!!!

Turtlewax ice spray wax will not leave white marks on paint, plastics and rubbers. It can also be used on vinyl graphics.

If you got white stains from the wax on those parts seriously just take an eraser like from a pencil or something and use it to get it off
