Where is the best type of place to buy detailing supplys without ordering them online? I figured out today that I've been washing my truck and cars wrong for over 20 years . lol go figure.

Depends on what you are looking for. Most of the Mothers and Meguiar's products can be found in auto parts stores or Walmart while the higher end/specialty products will be in a more dedicated store or online. Your best bet to find what is near you is to either google the product to see where it may be available or search online for a specialty shop near you. You could also ask around at a detail shop in your area, or even participants in a local car show.

Ok, I've seen the meguiars and mothers at Walmart. I'm thinking I will wash it and clay bar it Wednesday then wax it.

Walmart and Autozone are good spots to buy Meguiars products.

Big box stores pretty much carry mediocre products. Yes some work but there is better out there. I recommend looking at Autogeek.

After you clay it you should put some sort of polish on it. This will protect the paint and lost a while. The wax doesn't supply a lot of protection. Like you said, you've been doing it wrong for a number of years and if your going to do it right mind as well you mind as well do all the steps. Some polishes can go on by hand but will not take out scratches and other inprofections. At least you will have some on there.
