Installed the detroit TruTrac in my 11' SR5. About 1.5 hours to install. Unbelievable upgrade-worth every penny. Huge difference off road in both 2wd and 4wd. I used original shims with new bearings and about 3 quarts of sythetic 75-90.

^ limited slip, gear driven, so no clutches to wear out or special additives needed. i believe they are ~$430 new, at least that is the best price i found on the net. got mine "new" (off another member, but never installed) for over half that!!

good to hear! i have a 4.10 3rd im going to get O/H'd and the trutrac installed at the same time.

While there are no clutches to wear out, The "Friction surface" is the case of the diff. When that wears out, you have to get a new unit, as oppesed to replacing the clutches. That being said, it DOES last much longer than an OEM, or other type of LS diff that uses clutch packs.
