    I've never had any luck painting aluminum but PC's have come a long way. Must stick, they make aluminum hoods & funders now.

    I would think if you are just painting yours you could use emery paper and sand them off wet style. Or do the oven cleaner. It seems to etch the aluminum a little and you want that anyway if you are painting them. Or you could use etching primer.

    This ^^^, you will definitely need an etching primer or for the aluminum to be etched via the oven cleaner chemicals.

    Here's a thought too. You could try white Plastidip. And then use a Plastidip clear. That way should it not go as well as you'd like just peel it off and do it again. I do recommend at least 6 coats of white plastidip and 3 coats of clear though for durability in your case. :D

    I’m thinking of removing all the white , it only has a couple small chips but down to the aluminum . Then do the oven cleaner and emery cloth ( overkill ) prime and paint . Thinking Olive drab , military green .

    Cool, it will probably be easer to repaint them :thumbsup: Figured since the HomerTaco grill is going on I would change up the horns . I might even mount the horns on the tailgate and go with TOYOTA on the grill !

    Yea, everything I am reading involves a lot of chemicals and elbow grease. Seems like a brief emery paper sand followed up with some 000 or 0000 steel wool would do the trick, then etching primer and then your favorite paint.

    I am definitely putting mine on the grill. I want them up front!

    Hey Andre, can you do shotpeening without anodizing afterwards? I like the slight increase in strength and the rougher surface as opposed to the natural aluminum which still shows some machining marks... I'm looking to paint it myself to color match my truck...
