Today's DFAC menu: Luby's rubber chicken nightmare with green beans and pseudo Olive Garden bread stick.
The green beans and bread stick were the best part.

I very nearly did, but I don't know how long I'm going to be here yet so I am not sure when the next meal will be. It was just as delicious as it looks.

That’s rough. Needs hot sauce at a minimum.

Lol no, part of my job is disaster response. So I'm doing that today and the catering can range from excellent to MRE to what we have today. I have had some deployments that were awesome in regard to the chow and coffee. MREs are rare, sandwich boxes are a little more common and the quality depends on who got the contract for that day. I usually bring some emergency Scoobie Snacks for days like today, but of course I took that bag out of my rig last night.

Even with Tabasco Chipotle it left much to be desired.

    I'm sure!
You working out of a truck? More options than if you're on foot.

Until today I was. I finally got a billet in the logistics shack so I have a place to actually sit inside. Prior to this it was the tailgate, awning, and camp chairs with a solar generator and my Yeti for food and drinks. I have to keep a go bag in my truck or office since I don't ever know when something will happen and it absolutely sucks to show up somewhere and not have what I need to work or snivel items. So I keep a minimal amount of stuff so I can work without any support for the first day or two.

Probably the duration. I'm at least not out here as much as some county people are. Some of the senior types are here 7 days a week for 12-18 hours. I have other duties elsewhere so I am not here everyday, and I typically am not here for more than 6-8 hours, depending on what is going on. Today I got here around 730 and I'm trying to get some stuff set up and the accommodations where we can use them, along with being on several conference calls/virtuals. So I will probably end up here for another couple of hours.

The county/FEMA/Coasties in the shack all play Rush and 80s music so I got that going for me.

Wife sent me to Costco to get Prosecco for the wedding this weekend. I forgot the drank, but I’m ready to kick start some good weather

Thats one reason I traded the boat for the Camaro. Storage, insurance, and maintenance costs were quickly exceeding my usage. Especially when I can rent a new-ish boat at Lewisville Lake for $175/day and someone else has to do all the above mentioned.

Briquettes? I got a bag of kingsford I'm not going to use. Bought them before I realized the new grill is lump only.
