I got to do a bit of very light off roading at my in laws land. A couple of creek crossings (dry) and some rocky areas. Father in law really liked my truck. No new mods for christmas though.

It's basically the end of County Road 127 north of Walnut Bend, TX. Just from McKinney to the river took me about 2-3 hours. It was Xmas day so no one on the roads, but I was in no rush and stopped several times for pics. Also drove through the Wildlife Refuge which took up some more time. The map below is for the entire day so the miles and time is misleading.

Do you have detailed routes (or zoomed in more)? This seems fun and since I live up north by Denton it wouldnt be too far of a hike

Looks like a fun drive. Where did you enter and exit the trail? Do you just follow the road and it becomes a dirt road??

I found a file on the Texas Overland Facebook group and loaded it into my phone and followed the route. PM me your email and I can send you the KMZ file.
These are all marked county roads but i did sometimes wonder if I was on the road and not someone's property. Although I was never too far from civilization, I only saw one gas station near the end of the route. Fill up in McKinney just to be sure you don't have to deviate from the route.

Go to the group page and look for the "Files" tab. There are several other maps on there but mostly south of DFW. I might try another one from Lewisville to Spanish Fort this weekend.

Right now we just have my Kel Tec P11 9mm (my daily carry), my dpms oracle .223 ar, and her glock g26 9mm she just got for xmas. Planning on a savage 12ga shotgun for the house and an upgraded carry for me pretty soon. First order of business is building her an AR9.
