Have you looked at availability for camp sites at Palo Duro State Park? Last week I was on the website and was barely able to book a campsite for end of June. It's a popular spot that fills up fast. Hot Springs National Park has campsites that I believe are first come/first serve. So get to the park early to have your best chance of booking a good site.

I'm a frequent camper with our three dogs.

HSNP is a lot of fun, consider staying on Lake Oachita nearby. Less crowded and more scenic than the national campground. Lots of small time quartz digs nearby that are dog friendly. The bathhouse brewery is a personal favorite of mine.

Palo Duro is great, but I'll bet you a six pack it's already full for Easter weekend. Consider copper breaks State Park, or Caprock Canyon.

Fredericksburg is another fun destination and there are quite a few wineries and restaurants that are dog friendly. Lukenbach has a great Saturday night scene. I prefer using hipcamps around that area, but Leifeste campground in the tiny town of Castell looks nice too.

Speaking of, sign up on hipcamp. They have some true hidden gems in this area.

Tompkins Bend, Lake Ouachita. Fantastic kayaking for such a large lake.

I may check out Lake Ouachita and see what the wife thinks. I think the weather will be nice that weekend.

Stimmy hit today (yes, I'm a poor). AllPro standard leaf packs on order...tired of sagging factory leaf packs. Seems that the single or multi AAL's can't prevent it. I ordered a kit that includes Bilstein 5125's but won't be using them. I will post the shocks for sale once received, if anyone is interested.

Anyone know the stock axle weights on our trucks?
Curb weight is ~4200-4400lbs depending on options, but does anyone have the front/rear spread?

So based on the five pictures they posted I'm guessing it's basically a mudhole with a 25$ cover charge.

    Neat. You kids have fun.

The facebook page is terrible. Instagram has a couple clips of Jeeps stuck in mudholes and a couple going through some water. It looks like it'll just be a mud park. Someone opening 360 Trails would've been better

I watched the video of the council meeting. Alcohol is prohibited. Trail markers every 100ft to make for easier emergency locating. About 10 miles of trails cut with a tractor. Its next to Bear Creek which has a rock bottom with a 2 mile trail going along it. There will be easier trails to take a daily driver to or as the councilman said, "if you need to go off and do something stupid, the opportunity will be there."

City wanted to create an alternative to the 360 trails?

The real question is how much will they charge for a recovery pull?

When I was a kid I heard a rumour of a local rancher opening up his property. It was damn near free to get in. But if you bogged down he'd show up in his tractor and offer a pull for 20 bucks cash. He'd get you just far enough to dry land, unhook, watch you get bogged down again, and then offer another pull for 20 bucks cash.

Probably just a tale from school, but I always wondered how easily someone could run that racket.

It sounds like its privately owned. This was a zoning/permit approval. The park is in a major floodplain and I assume it floods often. They said there's no other use for the property due to the risk.

Could always come out to the pineywoods of East Texas and see about camping at Tyler State Park? This is the beginning of our busy season so not sure of the availability to Easter Weekend, but the website will know honestly what type of site you are wanting.

Tyler is a 10-mile drive one way and has some good places to eat depending on what you are looking for if you want to go into town to get something. Not to mention some good local breweries in town as well, just ask @Naveronski

Palo Duro State Park got hit by a tornado a few days ago, so not a good time to go, lots of recovery and rebuilding that needs to be done at the park. Staff is going to be very busy for a bit unfortunately and the fewer people that go the more they can focus on getting back up and running fully.

I have a small fortune lined up with maintenance between the two of us and faulty parts on the T4R. I am not excited about replacing the rear hatch goo. @Silverspool — consider swapping the lever/touch pad before it becomes trash.

The rest will go into the beans and rice savings.
